2/15/2024 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 61 degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: muffin, an apple and water.

Plan for Today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 2/14/2024.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.
  8. ACE Classes – Introduction to Infectious Disease 5-6 PM (Hosting) and Effective Writing 6-6:30 PM.
  9. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.

The morning started out dark, overcast but cool, in the 50’s. As the sky got lighter, the sky was overcast except for two slitters of clear sky above the Sierras which were filled with reddish brown, followed by dark clouds and orange yellow and followed by more dark clouds. As the dawn sky emerged, the colors turned to bright red, gray, yellow and dark gray clouds. The colors grew lighter as the morning progressed. AS the sun rise, the orange sphere illuminated the underside of the clouds around it and the clearing turned to yellow gold color. As the morning continued the sun was shielded by the Dark clouds. The rabbit was hanging out by the basketball court, I gave it some apple cores for snacks. Finished walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 16 minutes and 24 seconds, stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Showered at 9:20 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM: Doris is well. She walked 6794 steps, step length was 14.7 Inches and symmetry was 84%. That was 24th consecutive days of closing the ring. She will keep walking today tp keep the streak alive. Diana is going to Redding this weekend to see her daughter and grand daughter. She was complaining about getting appointment in Kaiser. I told her it is the same in all Health care systems. She asked if Monday was a Federal Holiday, I told her it was and there is visitation. Karlee and Chris has option on which day they want to visit. They will email me. I told her I will be busy administering the examination for ACE Class – Infectious Disease and attend Effective Writing class tonight. GED/ ESL tutoring and hemming pants for the penitentiary. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, green beans, sweet potatoes, bread and water. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well, she will be busy working on her new designs for her aprons. It was getting foggy in the Bay Area. She will keep walking inside to keep her streak going. I replied that I will administer the Examination for Infectious Disease, attend Effective writing class, GED/ ESL Tutoring and hemming pants for the penitentiary. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Went to sewing room to hem pants. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: 2 hot dogs, corn, carrots, potatoes chips and water. Two new inmates finally came to the camp at 4:30 PM. We processed them. ACE Class – Introduction to Infectious Disease 5-6 PM (Hosting) and Effective Writing 6-6:30 PM. I administered the final examination for the ACE Class Infectious Disease. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Finished my laundry at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and closed the ring on her iPhone for 24 the consecutive days. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Hosted and attended ACE classes. Good GED/ ESL tutoring classes.
