Yesterday was a Sunday morning. I woke up while in lockdown. Time moves slowly. So, I made it a point to write a letter to my wife, Gina, and create a happy Ramadan card for her. In addition, I helped my cellmate clean up the room and took a shower.
After the door opened at 5:30 PM, I wrote another page of the 600 pages of the Quran. I intend to write an entire Quran for my daughter and my son. I closed the evening off by adding another edition to my children’s storybook.
I also started an end of Ramadan feast bag, which will consist of gathering food for the next 30 days in a separate laundry bag. This way, inmates who are fasting will have something special to enjoy at the end of the month during the festival called Eid.
