This morning, I returned to a familiar rhythm—a meditative grind of pullups and pushups—despite nursing a wrist injury. It’s in moments like these where I realize that healing isn’t passive. It’s active. It’s earned.
I ran 4 full rounds of a pullup ascending ladder (30mins):
Round 1: 1 to 8 pullups with 10 pushups in between = 36 pullups, 80 pushups
Round 2: 1 to 7 pullups, 10 pushups in between = 28 pullups, 70 pushups
Round 3: 1 to 6 pullups, same pushups = 21 pullups, 60 pushups
Round 4: another 1 to 6 ladder = 21 pullups, 60 pushups
Total: 106 pullups, 270 pushups.
What powered me through wasn’t pre-workout. It wasn’t hype music.
It was breathwork and affirmations—grounding into the present moment, connecting to something higher, and reminding myself who I am:
“I am powerful. I am healing. I am in control.”
Every pullup became a declaration. Every pushup a step forward.
That’s what fitness is at this stage. Less about reps. More about resilience.
