My name is Cillian Dunne, and I got to know Trung after his trial. When we first met, I almost couldn’t believe the weight of what Trung was carrying on his shoulders. He was so calm, so generous, funny, conversational… If I was in Trung’s shoes, I can’t say that I’d be thinking about anyone other than myself. That was what impressed me about his character first. I truly took an instant liking to him. Then, after learning more about his background and his family, it became obvious to me that Trung is someone who does what he has to do, doesn’t complain, and makes sure those he cares for around him are protected. He is arguably one of the strongest men I’ve met in this regard.
I’m honored to write this testimonial in appreciation of Trung Nguyen’s extraordinary contributions to our nonprofit, Prison Professors.
Before Trung even surrendered to serve his sentence, he demonstrated a rare level of discipline and foresight. He proactively began building his profile on Prison Professors Talent, documenting his journey and setting a powerful example for others. As of July 8, 2025, I saw that Trung had already completed two biography entries, 24 journal entries, and 22 book reports. I’m confident that a comprehensive release plan will follow soon.
But Trung’s impact extends far beyond his own preparation. He volunteered to assist us in developing our MasterClass curriculum, working closely with me to design courses that empower people in prison to prepare for success upon release.
One of the most pressing challenges justice-impacted individuals face is finding employment after prison. Trung helped shape educational materials that teach system-impacted individuals how to build their own income streams—an essential skill in a world where traditional opportunities may be limited.
Trung volunteered to help us, showing us that he is a leader and a builder. I am confident that others will benefit from his wisdom. While he serves his sentence, I trust that he will contribute by facilitating classes, mentoring peers, and encouraging others to memorialize their journeys.
Trung understands that success after release begins with the preparations a person makes long before release. His personal actions show what it means to live with purpose and intent.
I expect Trung to rise quickly on our leaderboard and I will proudly use his profile as a model when advocating for merit-based mechanisms to reward personal development and readiness for home confinement.
I hope Trung continues to collaborate with our nonprofit during his time inside—and beyond.
I’m deeply grateful for his service, insight, and leadership.
My name is Melanie Lyons, and I’ve known Trung Nguyen my entire life. He’s not just my brother-in-law, he’s family in every sense of the word. From childhood through adulthood, Trung has always been kind, dependable, and deeply loyal.
Trung is the kind of person who shows up when others won’t. When my daughter was in danger as a teenager, Trung and my sister took her into their home, cared for her like their own, and helped give her a second chance. He paid for her medical care, braces, and even helped with college applications. It may have saved her life.
When I faced financial hardship as a single mother, Trung gave me a job, a place to stay, and unwavering support, more than once. My kids adore him, and my son still remembers how Trung taught him self-defense to build confidence after being bullied.
The man I know is honest, hardworking, and lives by strong values. The events of his case are hard to reconcile with everything I’ve seen him do for others. He’s always put his family first, and we’re all struggling with what this means.
What I know for sure is that Trung is a good man, and I’ll always stand by him.

My name is James Alevizos, and I’ve known Trung Nguyen for twenty years as both a friend and business associate. In every interaction, Trung has proven to be honest, hardworking, and trustworthy.
From day one, what stood out to me was Trung’s authenticity, what you see is what you get. In a world full of surface-level connections, his straightforward and dependable nature has always been refreshing. He’s a man of his word, and his mentorship over the years has helped shape my own path as a family man and entrepreneur.
Trung is a forward-thinker who approaches problems with strategy and innovation. Like many successful entrepreneurs, he relied on professionals to help navigate complex legal and financial issues. I genuinely believe he thought he was building within the law, not outside of it.
One moment I’ll never forget: I was purchasing a property from Trung, and my legal team accidentally overstated the sale price by $10,000. Out of all the professionals involved, only Trung caught the error, and instead of quietly taking the windfall, he told us the truth. That kind of integrity is rare.
Trung is not only a respected entrepreneur but a devoted husband and father. While I don’t know every detail of his case, I do know Trung. He is a man of value, someone who would serve our community far better as a mentor than behind bars.
I fully support him and respectfully ask for leniency. He’s earned it.

My name is Brad Rouse. I got to know Trung Nguyen after his trial. I was amazed by the story of his family’s harrowing escape from Vietnam in 1979. As I recall, they were stranded for eight days at sea without food and water. His family built new lives in Massachusetts through hard work. His father worked at the same fishery company for thirty years. Trung got good grades in school while working multiple jobs and playing sports. He earned a college degree and eventually started his own eco-friendly cleaning company. I was happy to hear that Trung has a strong marriage and that his children are healthy, active young people with good jobs. In recent years, Trung took excellent care of his father who is suffering with metastatic cancer. Overall, Trung has an outstanding record of hard work, service, and responsible citizenship. I have total faith in Trung’s ability to create new business opportunities for himself in the years ahead. With his work ethic and advanced technical skills, there is no limit to his potential.
My name is Ramon Hinson, and I’ve known Trung Nguyen for over 40 years. We grew up together in Gloucester Crossing, a tough neighborhood in Beverly, MA, and through every season of life, Trung has always been a source of truth, stability, and strength.
Trung has never been one to chase easy roads. He’s honest, even when it’s hard, and he’s always used his voice to steer me, and others, away from negative influences. I’ve watched him build a beautiful life with his wife Sabrina and their twins, always putting their development first, academically, athletically, and spiritually.
During one of the hardest times in my life, Trung gave me a place to live and helped me regain my footing. That’s just who he is, he shows up, he lifts others, and he never looks for recognition. His commitment to personal growth, fitness, and family is unmatched.
He’s a man of integrity who carries the burdens of others without complaint. I’ve seen his strength firsthand, in how he supports his kids, in the way he turns adversity into growth, and in the respect he commands without needing to demand it.
Trung’s presence has made a major impact on my life, and I know he’s going to continue being a light for others. He’s a real one, and he deserves grace, not judgment.

My name is Sabrina Nguyen, and I’ve known Trung for 40 years, as a childhood friend, husband, business partner, and father of our children. From the day we met as seven-year-olds in a poor neighborhood, Trung has always stood out for his kindness, honesty, and thoughtfulness.
We built a life together from the ground up, starting businesses, raising twins, and weathering every challenge as a team. Trung is a man of integrity and humility. He never sought material excess, his focus was always on building a future for his family and helping others. He’s the one who always shows up, not just for us, but for friends, employees, and even extended family when they’ve needed support.
The outcome of this case has been incredibly difficult for all of us, especially for our children. But even in the darkest moments, Trung has remained resilient and focused on doing right by those he loves. I’ve watched him reflect deeply and take full responsibility, not just for actions, but for the impact. His heart is heavy not for himself, but for how this has affected us.
He’s still the man I’ve always known: thoughtful, accountable, and devoted to becoming better. We hold on to the belief that even in darkness, we can find the light. I know Trung will rise from this experience stronger and even more committed to living with purpose.

My name is Ky Nguyen. Trung Nguyen is my cousin and I’ve known
Trung for my whole life. Both of our families escaped Vietnam together after the war on a boat. With many blessings and support we settled in Danvers, MA. Our two families lived together in a small house as we started our American journey in 1980. I was 6 and Trung was 5 years old, respectively. I have three sisters, and with Trung being an only child, we grew up essentially as brothers. Growing up as immigrant children was a challenge but it has shown me three things about Trung; he is hard working, kind and a loving son and father.
When our families arrived in Danvers MA, we started with literally no
money. With the support of our local church we began to live our American story. Trung is a true example of the American Dream. With his grit and discipline, Trung was able to graduate from Bentley College on a scholarship.
With his degree in accounting he was able to work for Price Waterhouse
Coopers. Ultimately, he started his own successful cleaning business
employing 10 employees over a span of 15 years. Trung is a child of a single parent. His parents divorced before we arrived in the US.
One of the things that I admire most about Trung is his relationship with his father, Manh. When we first arrived in the US, Manh started working at Fishery Products International packing frozen fish. Manh continued to work there for the next 30 years supporting Trung. Trung also started work early delivering newspapers by the fourth grade. I admire Manh for being a single parent, having to learn English, adapting to a new culture,
all the while raising a child on his own. Through their many challenges, they have succeeded together. Trung’s relationship with his father is special and their shared experience has made them a close family. You can see Trung’s kindness by the way he has cared for his father through his lung cancer diagnosis for the last 3 years.
Trung is a loving husband and father to two beautiful children, Thai and Teyha. People say they can tell a lot about someone by looking at how their children were raised. Trung’s character is an extension of his two beautiful children. Both are smart, hard working and that is a testament to Trung and Sabrina’s integrity as parents. When his twin children were born 2 months premature, Trung and Sabrina were at the NICU every single day, never leaving their side. Now 19 years old, Thai is a graduate from technical school, working in the HVAC industry, while Teyha is a successful pilates
instructor.
Trung’s kindness shows through his love for animals, especially dogs.
For as long as I’ve known him he’s always had multiple dogs in his
household. He is a true animal lover and each one of his dogs were an
integral part of his family. I love visiting his family and playing with his dogs and it inspired me to get a dog of my own. Animals do really bring out people’s true compassion and kindness. Trung has shown that through his family and love of animals.
I am proud and grateful to call Trung my brother. He has taught me
patience, compassion, and grace. Growing up together I never heard him complain about any difficult circumstances. He has always been positive and optimistic, no matter the situation.
My name is Christopher James Morin, and I’ve had the privilege of calling Trung Nguyen my friend for over 35 years. We first met in 7th grade and graduated high school together in 1995. Since then, I’ve watched Trung grow into one of the most honest, hardworking, and caring individuals I know.
Trung’s story is one of perseverance. As a child refugee from Vietnam, he helped manage his household while still a teenager—paying bills and translating for his father, who didn’t speak English. He went on to graduate from Bentley College and launch multiple businesses, always with the same dedication and integrity he’s carried throughout his life.
Beyond business, Trung has been a true friend—loyal, present, and generous. Whether I was moving houses, navigating work challenges, or preparing for the birth of my twins, Trung was there. He gave me advice, time, and support—always selflessly.
We all make mistakes, but knowing Trung as deeply as I do, I have no doubt that he will move forward from this chapter with the same grit, love for his family, and dedication to doing right by others that has defined his life. I stand by him fully and believe in the good he still has to offer this world.
Christopher Morin
My name is Minister Welby Peña, and I’ve had the honor of knowing Minister Trung Nguyen for over 25 years—not just as a friend, but as a fellow servant of the Most High. I’ve witnessed his unwavering commitment to truth, righteousness, and the service of others. Trung lives by the Word—not just preaching faith, but embodying it in every action.
He has always stood firm in his belief that divine law transcends man-made systems. In a world full of compromise, Trung chose conviction. His life reflects the essence of Psalm 119:142: ‘Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Thy law is the truth.’
What makes Trung exceptional is not just his faith, but the fruits of it—his works, his compassion, his mentorship, and his unwavering dedication to lifting others up. To know him is to know someone who walks in love, lives with integrity, and serves with humility.
There is no victim in his case—only a man whose life has been about healing, helping, and honoring divine principles. I urge anyone reading this to look at his life through the lens of truth and love. You will know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16)—and Trung’s fruit is abundant and righteous.
