Woke up at 5:30 AM. Cleaned up and made up my bed. Had a cup of light coffee, that’s all my body can handle. Watched the local news and weather channel. Stretched while watching the news. Breakfast was late at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: oatmeal, apple, roll and punch.
Plan for today:
- Help Chad with Laundry duties.
- Pick up commissary items at 8:30 AM.
- Work on the “Gambling in Prison” handout.
- Walk 6 miles around the track.
- Call Doris.
- Send Daily Diary to Doris and Michael.
Picked up commissary items at 7:00 AM. Finally a new pair of Under Armour shoes with support. Spent $66.65 at the commissary, and several items ordered were out of stock. Helped Chad with laundry duties from 7:30 onwards. At 10:00 AM was requested for a Dental check-up with Dr. Cheung. She inspected my teeth and recommended periodic cleaning and flossing with super floss. Cleaning can be scheduled through email via Trulinc. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: hamburger, chips, and punch. Called Doris at 10:45 AM:
She had a bad asthma attack last night but is feeling better today. She checked with CVS but the nebulizer has not arrived, hopefully by Friday. Her next appointment with Dr. Jasmine Lee is on 7/16/2023. I told her about my A&O meeting yesterday and the medical staff will look into my hearing problem. Completed laundry duties at 1:00 PM. Emailed daily Diaries for; 6/18, 6/19, 6/20, 6/21, 6/22 to Doris and Michael. 2:30 PM I was paged by the Medical unit to pick up my medications.
Received the following medications: 1) HydroCholoro Thiazide 25 mg for High Blood pressure. 2) Terazosin HCL 2 mg Capsule – 7 tablets to be used for 7 days for enlarged prostrate, 5 mg capsules to be used after the 2 mg capsules are finished. 3) Ibuprofen 800 mg for Pain. Emailed the last Daily diaries to Doris and Michael at 3:15 PM. Headcount at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after headcount. Dinner menu: beef burrito, salad, beans and punch. Took a nap from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Walked 6 miles around the track from 5:15 – 7:00 PM. A good walk with my new pair of shoes. The long walk allows me to strategize what and how to develop tools, tactics, and resources to achieve my goal of maximum liberty while minimizing the time in incarceration. It also allows me to plan my activities for tomorrow. Stretched after my walking. Headcount at 7:30 PM. Cleaned up and showered at 8:00 PM. Another head count at 8:45 PM. Presented the extra Yoga book to Jon for all his help. Went to bed at 10:15 AM.
Today is a good day: got lots of things accomplished, walked 6 miles with my new shoes, got my prescriptions, Dental check-up. The handout ” Gambling in Prison” was interesting and opened my eyes to all the illegal things happening in prison and why some inmates are bored: wasting their time lazing around, sleeping, watching Television, and aimlessly wandering about to pass their time in Prison and getting unnecessary disciplinary infraction. I hope to keep busy with my plans to acquire new skills, and tools and develop resources, so I could apply my new skills during my reentry to the community.
