Journal Entry

Got up at 5:30 AM. Cleaned up and changed to BOP uniform. Watched some morning news and the local weather report. The weather will be nice today, great for walking and outdoor activities but the weekend will be a scorcher.

Plan for today:

  1. Help Chad with laundry duties.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Email Daily Diaries to Michael Santos and Doris.
  4. Check with the Unit manager about the Visitation pass.
  5. Read.
  6. Walk 6 Miles around the track. Daily Diary.

Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM, breakfast menu: Oatmeal, banana, bread, milk, and punch. Helped Chad with laundry from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM, laundry duties allows me to do other stuff in between washing, drying, and delivering washed laundry to the proper bunks. Read at the library until 10:00 AM. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM, Lunch menu: Tuna, carrot, bread, and punch. After lunch, a kitchen staff gave me an extra serving of Tuna for a snack. Tried calling Doris at 10:45 AM, but failed to connect. Called Doris again at 11:00 AM and was able to connect with her.

She told me that Siew Eng had called to check up on her and also inquired about me. She fell down trying to lock up the dogs but was able to get up after an hour of struggling with the aid of the couch. She called Diana, who came by after she was able to get up from the floor. She had to take a shower after the ordeal. I told her I was proud of her for getting herself up from the fall. She should try to use the couch in the leaving to practice getting up from the floor when there is someone around to assist her. I told her the next milestone for her health is her eyesight when she visits Dr Scott Lee on 7/3/2023. I would pay for the multi-focal lenses. Hopefully, DR Lee will do the surgery for her. She asked about the Visitation forms, I replied that the visitation form will be some time as no one is around the Unit to process them.

We finally had access to the computer room today. E-mail my First Day at Atwater Daily Diaries to Michael Santos and Doris. I checked with our secretary Ms Chavez about Doris’ visitation unfortunately she had no access to the forms. She informed me that she will check with Mr. Reyes ( New Counselor) about it, also he will be at the A&O meeting tomorrow at 7:30 AM. Went to the library at 1:30 PM to read until 3:00 PM. Headcount at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after that. Dinner menu: sloppy joe, Corn, rice, bread, and punch. Ate the leftover Tuna with bread. Sent my second Day daily diary to Doris and Michael. Walked 6 miles around the track from 6:15 – 7:30 PM. Headcount at 8:00 PM. Had some snacks: almonds, banana, saltine crackers, and an apple. Cleaned up and showered at 8:30 PM. Changed to Sweat pants and shirt. Had our final head count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

It is a good day, we had access to the computer, and Doris was able to get up from her fall, ate lots of Tuna, and completed my 6 miles walk. The walk help me plan my activities for tomorrow and how I could improve myself while in Atwater.
