Journal Entry

Woke up @ 5:00 AM. Cleaned up and changed to BOP uniform. Instead of coffee, I had hot water hopefully, it will help reduce my high blood pressure. I have noticed my vision has improved since I reduce my coffee consumption. Watched the local news and weather report. Did some stretching while watching the news. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast Included: oatmeal, roll, and punch. Went to the library to read and enter my daily diary at 6:45 AM.

Plan for today:

  1. Read and book report.
  2. Daily Diary entry.
  3. Indian Nation course at 4:00 PM.
  4. Call Doris.
  5. Walk 6 miles around the walking track.

Read until 9:45 AM. Headed back to the unit. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: baked fish, macaroni, green beans, Tapioca pudding, bread, and punch. Talked to Doris at 11:00 AM. She told me that Carmelo did not show up for the welfare check. I told her I received all the books and the release plan. In addition, I also received the books ordered from Amazon and also from Michael Santos. I told her the computer room is still closed, and probably won’t open until Monday.

Also, I have not received any information about her visitation request and did not expect any development for a few weeks.  I will notify her if I receive any news. She told me she had an asthma attack last night but was able to control it with the medications prescribed by Dr. Lee. I told her my ribs, hands, and wrist are healing but slowly, we laughed that I am getting old and the healing process is longer. I went back to the library at 11:20 AM to view a DVD on human anatomy about the ear and the eye by Dr. Melton. Unfortunately, I was not able to view the section about Human eyes.

Probably I did not know how to access it on the DVD. Lots of useful information about hearing loss and how to mitigate it. Finished the video and started reading until 1:00 PM. Went back to the unit and found out that I was scheduled for  A & O orientation on Tuesday 6/27/2023 at 7:30 AM in the Visitors’ room. The counselor informed me that we should dress in our BOP green uniform because the warden might attend the event. Watched some Television and took a nap until 2:30 PM. Roll Call at 3:00 PM. Dinner was served at 3:30 PM. Dinner menu: beef casserole, salad, bread and punch.

Attended the AEC class on the Indian Nation at 4:00 PM. The class is about the history of Indian nations and is a nine-week course, 30 minutes per session. this is a certification course and it is eligible for FSA credits. 4:45 PM changed into my workout clothes for my walk on the track. Finished walking 6 Miles at 6:00 PM. I applied ice treatment to my ribs, hands, and wrist. Made some ramen noodles with spicy sausage. Cleaned up at 8:00 PM. Headcount at 8:45 PM. Final headcount at 9:30 PM. Took 800 Mg of Ibuprofen to mitigate my pain. Went to bed at 9:30 PM. It is a good day after receiving all the books and Doris is na=manging her asthma well and my injury is healing slowly.
