Woke up at 5:30 AM. Cleaned up and changed to BOP uniform. Made up my bed and had some strong coffee and watched the local weather and news. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast menu: Pastry, oatmeal, apple, and milk. At 6:30 AM, I was paged to meet with the Psychology unit Dr. Liupakorn DR L. in the visitor’s room.
Dr. L asked me some questions about my mental health and how I was holding up at the camp. She informed me that she was stationed at the main facility and visited the camp infrequently and the best way to contact her is via e-mail. She also told me that the conversation with me was confidential unless it pertains to: trying to injure others, injuring myself, or being suicidal. She evaluated me and informed me that I qualify for the FSA credits. She confirmed it on the computer. She told me that she will be offering some courses in the next few months.
Courses include Mental Health, Cognition, Anger management, Trauma, Drug education, and other classes. She recommended that I completed the survey on Trulinc, I responded that I already completed the three surveys on Trulinc. She informed me that if any of the categories that were checked yes, then I would have to take the classes recommended, or I could also volunteer for the classes too even though I do not qualify as it is beneficial for FTC credits towards my early release or transfer to RRC. She informed me to check on the bulletin board for the courses. She will be dropping some journals and worksheets for me in a few days, a Journal notebook, and a Gambling package.
I should complete the Gambling package and return it to the psychology staff. She recommended that I stay away from association with some inmates to stay out of trouble. She informed me that there is a lot of contraband in the camp and not to get involved with them. The correctional officers occasionally conduct major shakedowns for contraband. I told her I have some hearing problems and sometimes have to ask her to repeat herself. we talked about trauma and I told her I experienced it when my mom passed away and one of my colleagues committed suicide at Caltrans. I thanked her for her time evaluating me and look forward to the journal and gambling package. We concluded the meeting at 7:00 AM. Went to the Library to enter my daily Diary and reading.
Plan for today:
- Help Chad with Laundry.
- Read.
- Daily Diary.
- Resume walking on the track.
- Apply ice on my ribs, hands, and wrist.
- Play some cribbage.
Last day for Case Manager Ms. Tianto, she is retiring and Camp Counselor Ms. Stockton. Ms. Stockton is transferring to the main facility. Read at the library from 7:00 – 9:00 AM. Went back to the unit at 10:00 AM. 10:30 AM Lunch, Menu: Hamburger w/cheese, beans, apple, milk, and punch.
Called Doris around 11:30 AM. She informed me that the medications from Dr. Jasmine Lee helped her cough up the phlegm that has been building up in her lungs for a long time. The Social Security check was deposited to my account and she schedule payments for all our credit cards and household bills. She went through my e-mail and social media.
I asked her to delete any junk or unwanted mail. She inquired about the visitations request. I told her not to plan any visits until I have received authorization from the counselor.
It will probably take a few weeks to get approval for the personnel moves. Went back to the library to read from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Went back to the unit for headcount at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after headcount. Dinner menu: Spaghettis w/ marinara sauce, salad, pizza, and punch. Walked the track from 4:00 – 5:30 PM for 36 laps – 6 miles. Did lots of stretching of my left hand and ribs to relieve pain in my ribs. Then Iced down my ribs, hands, and wrist. The ice treatment has helped reduce the pain and improved my range of motion. Headcount at 7:30 PM. Watched Shang Xi while doing my ice treatment. Cleaned up and showered at 8:00 PM. Headcount at 8:45 PM. Changed into my pajamas, and watched television. Final headcount was at 9:30 PM went to bed at 10:00 PM. Felt a lot better after the ice treatment for my ribs, hands, and wrist. Glad I was able to resume my walking and stretching to regain my confidence. Also, it allows me to plan for tomorrow.
