Woke up at 5:30 AM. Cleaned up and made up my bed. Made a cup of coffee. Watched the local news and weather channel, high for today is 105 degrees F. Stretched while watching Television and drank my coffee.
Plan for today:
1) Laundry duties.
2) Send book report.
3) Email diary 7/2/2023 to Doris, Michael, and Prison Professor.
4) Read.
5) Call Doris about her eye appointment.
6) Stretch. Walk 6 miles.
Started loading laundry into the washer at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, pastry, Banana, milk and punch. Emailed Report on Gambling in Prison and Daily Diary for 7/2/2023 to Doris, Michael. Emailed book report on Release plan to Michael, and Doris. Michael Santos emailed me that Intern@PrisonProfessorTalent.com was up and ready to publish our daily Diary, book report, release plan, and others on the web. I edited the prison professor’s email accordingly so I could send the emails directly to the intern. Talked to Doris at 12:30 PM. Her appointment with Dr. Scott Lee was lengthy and they performed lots of tests on her eyes. Dr. Lee found that the pressure of her Glaucoma was very high and scheduled 6 appointments to correct her vision. Her cornea was alright. her appointments are scheduled for August. He assured Doris her eyesight will be restored and she did not need a cornea replacement. All the injections and Lasik surgery were covered by Medicare. The only out-of-pocket cost was the $10 copay for each visit. I was pleased with her appointment with Dr. Lee.
Open house for Unit Counselor Mr. Reyes was daily from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. I went to talk to my Counselor about:
a) my hearing problem. He recommended that I email Dr. Salcido to inquire about possibly scheduling a hearing test.
b) I inquired about my Pattern Score as Ms. Tianto did not provide a copy to me. He will discuss the subject at our next unit meeting. I summited my Gambling in prison handout to Dr. Rojas, who was conducting a Nonresidential Drug Abuse Program. I inquired how I could enroll in the class. He asked me to email a request to him and he will put me on the waiting list.
Started reading “Post Conviction Remedies” from 2:30 – 3:20 PM. Headcount at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after headcount. Dinner menu: Pizza, sloppy joe, banana, and punch. Continue reading at 4:15 PM until 6:30 PM. Back to the unit. Emailed Dr. Salcido about my hearing problem. Emailed Dr. Rojas about enrolling in the NRDAP course. Talked to Fernando about email and telephone costs: email is 5 cents per minute and telephone is 15 cents per minute. Currently, the telephone is free. Emailed book report on “Success After Prison” to Prison Professor, Michael and Doris. One of the Correctional Officers had a shake done on one of the inmates, looking for contrabands around 8:00 PM. Signed up for ACE class – Psychology on July 4, 2023, at 4:00 PM, it is a nine-class course. Cleaned up and showered at 8:20 PM. A final head count was 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
