Today I woke up at 6:15am, lights were fully up and the voice coming through the speakers said “Wake up, get dressed, make your bed, and be ready for inspection around 7am”.
I got up, dressed in all my greens, grabbed my coffee and granola bar, and headed to the cafe/tv room. I exchanged kind “good mornings” with the head CO and Warden.
This was the first time the Warden and I have ever connected like that. It was a pretty cool way to start the day. Ironically, on Friday, I had emailed the Warden a gracious “Thank you” for approving the furlough for my daughter’s wedding.
The weather is rainy and cloudy this morning. It does not look good for outdoor activities today like pickleball or tennis so I will exercise in the gym.
The library is closed for GED testing which makes it challenging for those who like to spend time reading as we won’t have a quiet place to read. This unfortunately makes the day feel longer, but I will still try to read.
The family is ecstatic after hearing the news I was approved for a furlough. I am beyond thrilled to walk my sunshine down the aisle.
