12/31/2023 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:40 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 63 degree F. Started walking at 6:45 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, muffin, an apple and water.

- Check email from Doris.
- Email daily diary for 12/30/2023.
- Walk 5 Miles.
- Split Stretch.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Geography Asia 5-5:30 PM and Oceanography 1 6-7 PM (Hosting).
Started washing beddings, blankets, sheets and pillow at 6:20 AM. Started walking at 6:45 AM. The morning walk started out cool, in the 50’s. The moon was in the Western sky and the dark dawn sky was painted in the sky. The horizon was clear, above it was some thick layers of cloud. As the sun rise, the horizon turn bright red with the contrasting dark grey clouds and the clouds near the sun was illuminated with an orange tint. As the sun emerged, the red sphere emerged then it was shielded by the thick clouds. Beautiful sun rise albeit it was brief. Finished washing my beddings, blankets and sheets at 8:30 AM. Washed a load of uniforms. Finished walking 6 miles in 1 hour 11 minutes and 3 seconds at 8:40 AM. Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court. the stretch felt good, finished stretching at 9:20 AM. Had some donuts and celery for snacks. Exchanged jacket for Rodrigo Santos. Read and replied to Doris email: She liked my description of the dawn sky and sun rise. It inspire her to pick up painting again but she was afraid of the capital investment to start her painting again. I encouraged her to do it if she feels like it. She Hope I will be back home by December 2024. I am also hoping it will materialize too. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken sandwich, fries, salad, a banana and water. talked to Doris after lunch at 9:50 AM: Doris and Patches are well. Doris liked my ACE Class report on Buddha. It was slightly different than what she learned in school. She is contemplating about painting, but it is an expensive hobby. She hope I will be back by December 2024. Had a brief hello with Patches and she talked to Eric and told him that I received his X’Mas Card. I had to cut the conversation short as we were having a Census count. I told them I finished my walking, stretching and washed my beddings. They will visit me tomorrow. Census count at 10:00 AM. Ivan Tizoc watched the following make up videos: Stress on your body #3, #4 and #5. Introduction to Infectious Disease Lessons # 3,4, and 5. Worked on my ACE Class and Book reports. The AAPI community had our Fish dinner with cabbage and Dr Pepper. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. I had a nap instead. ACE Classes – Geography Asia – 5-5:30 PM and Oceanography 1 6-7 PM (Hosting). Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris and Patches are well. They will visit me tomorrow. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Completed ACE Class and Book Reports. Attended and hosted ACE Classes.
