12/23/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:00 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 62 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 7:00 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (harina de avena, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning started out dark, cloudy, light fog, breezy and cold – 48 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was cloudy in the Southeast and Western Horizon. The autonomous car company had their flood and facilities lights turned on but they were not testing their vehicles. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The dawn sky was on display with autonomous colors peeking over the Sierras with distinct red, pink and mauve colors; dark gray clouds with peach colored bottoms, 1/2 moon in the mid sky amid the clouds and the dark blue sky. As the morning progressed, analogous colors radiated out of the suns path amid the low clouds: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The birds were on the roof and perched on the fences waiting for breakfast. They feasted on the food discarded by the inmates after breakfast. The brids continue feasting on grubs on the soccer, baseball and field outside the fence. As the sun rise, it changed colors from red, orange, yellow and bright yellow, the underside of clouds were peach of the Gray clouds and it warmed the air. As it ascended it dodged in and out of the clouds. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 23 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 24 seconds per mile or 2minutes and 4 seconds per lap. Education Supervisor CO Johnson informed me that we can take the week off for GED Tutoring and get to enjoy our X’Mas holidays. Stretched, split stretched an practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM: There was partial sunshine as the sun was trying to break through. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the morning walk. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky, analogous colors, colorful clouds, 1/2 moon in mid sky and dark blue sky. Followed by the spectacular sun rise. Opened my eyes to the cloudy sky with blue clearing and partial sunshine. The camp manager was at the dormitory to ensure everything was clean and he conficated a couple of 5 gallons bucket coolers. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. Weather is rain and cold in Pinole, even the dogs decided to take refuge in the dog house from the rain and cold. She asked if I wanted her to visit on Christmas Day, I told her, lets keep with the schedule to visit on 12/28/2024 when she will visit me with Karlee and Chris. I told her our Education Supervisor gave us a week off from GED tutoring and I will try to defer any sewing until next week. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. The sun broke through the clouds and we had blue sky and sunshine. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken tortilla, beans, rice, Cole Slaw, apple and water. The birds feasted on tortilla and apple cores discarded by the inmates. A few squirrels appeared for lunch. Checked email from Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8917 steps, 16.4 inches step length an symmetry was 8.4%. Yesterday was the 323rd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She ordered her grocery online an will be delivered today. She had an Etsy order, so it will keep her busy, so she could ship it out by 12/26/2024. She will enjoy the GSW / Indiana Pacers game tonight. Had a short nap. The Unicor staff had an early day from work at 12:00 PM. I saw on our bulletin, that we will have New York steak for Christmas dinner. Turned out to be a pretty nice day after the sun came out this afternoon. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: turkey, green peas, rice, bread and water. The autonomous car company was testing their vehicles this afternoon. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
