12/17/2023 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform, and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 65 degrees F. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffin, punch and an apple.
Plan for today:
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Check email from Doris.
- Email daily diary for 12/16/2023.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Split Stretch.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Customs of the World 5-5:30 PM and Oceanography 1 6-7 PM (Hosting).
- Visitation.
Decided to work on my ACE Class report – Effective Writing, because the class really piqued my interest. Also I need to give my body a break from walking. It was a nice quiet to improve my writing skills. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: boiled eggs, toast with syrup, fries and punch. Talked to Doris at 9:45 AM: Doris and Patches are well and they are on their way. They just through Tracy and their ETA was 11:05 AM. Cleaned up computer room. Checked and replied to Doris email. Showered at 10:10 AM. Talked to David Crisp about procedure to file the Zero Point Amendment (Otherwise known as two point sentence reduction). He informed me that the first we need to find out the offence level point for my case. This information is listed in the Presentence Report and also in the Sentencing Report. After we find out about the offense level point, we can look up the sentencing table to see if the Zero Point Amendment will reduce our sentencing time. David also provided me a sentencing table and a letter to the Federal Defender if their office will help us file a motion regarding this matter. Doris and Patches arrived at the visitation room at 11:10 AM: Doris and Patches are well. they had an okay show in SF yesterday. I asked Doris to look for my offence level point in my Presentencing Report or my Sentencing Report or Pleas Deal report, so I could determine if I am eligible for the sentence reduction. Doris will look for the information and email it to me. She will also make copies of my Presentencing Report and Sentencing Report or Plea Deal report and send them to me. Doris told me that the NY Attorney looked at my case and said i was eligible for a reduction of nine months or more, That would be very good news for me. I told them that Quang and Annie visited me yesterday on their way back from LA. They briefed me about Just Dance Ballroom has lost about 30% of their customers because they are not offering lessons to customers. Even they are not dancing as much because of the inclement weather and safety issues in Oakland. They did not enjoy their East Coast cruise on MSC Holland America. MSC nickel and dime them for meals, shows and other services which were provided free of charge on Carnival and Princess Cruise. The whole cruise package cost them about $4,000. There are thinking about a trip to Asia. Doris and Patches are thinking of going to the temple in Oakland. I told them they should buy some pastries at Wonder food bakery, roasted duck from Yung Kee, Joss sticks at Webster Street and steaks at Buttercup. We had Dr. Pepper, Coke, potato skin chips and Cheddar potato chips. Someone wanted to keep in touch with us, I told Doris that it is best to avoid contact with other inmates as BOP policy prohibit contact with other inmates. They will visit on 12/23/2023 Saturday with Karlee and Chris. Doris liked my book report on Effective Writing. I tole them that I currently attend seven and host five ACE classes. Also GED/ESL tutoring from Monday – Friday. Doris is walking without pain after her shot. They left the visitation room at 2:30 PM. It was a very good visit. I look forward to our visit next Saturday.
Census count at 3:30 PM. It rained and the ground was wet. Dinner was served at 4:00 PM. Dinner menu: Turkey with gravy, mashed potato, mixed vegetables and punch. ACE Classes – Customs of the World 5-5:30 PM and Oceanography 1 6-7 PM (Hosting). Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris and Patches are well. The visitation was great. Finished my class report on effective writing. Found out more information on Zero Point Amendment. Attended and Hosted ACE Classes.
