12/10/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:00 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 55 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

  9. GED/ Statistics Tutoring 12:00 – 1:45 PM.
  10. Statistics Class 1:45 – 3:00 PM.

The morning started out dark, cloudy, foggy and cold – 43 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was foggy but visibility was over 1 mile. The autonomous car company had their flood light on but were not testing the vehicles. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while LeBrona and mate were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the sky brightened, fog filled the lower atmosphere and clouds in the sky with some clearing in mid sky, some clouds were tinted with peach color amid the blue sky. The birds appeared after breakfast and feasted on food left by the inmates on the ground. Completed walking 3 miles at 7:00 AM, in 37 minutes and 20 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 27 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Entered journal into the computer. I was requested to help Magdeleno at the front office. Talked to Doris at 8:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. Weather was cold in Pinole when she let the dogs out. The dogs are out running around. She read all my journals which I entered and emailed to her. Prison Professor has posted several of them on my web page. I told her I will be busy with tutoring, Statistics class, hemming pants and new assignments for Magdeleno. She will enjoy the GSW/Rockets game on Wednesday. Went to front office at 9:10 AM. I was assigned three tasks: 1) replace two telephones at the dormitory, 2) Make 2000 copies for commissary, and 3) ship out damaged phones in the warehouse. I replaced both the phones at the dormitory. Went back to front office and made 2000 copies for commissary and dropped two packages to the warehouse for outgoing shipment. By the time I completed all my tasks, lunch time was over. Instead CO Alvarez gave me a few bananas for lunch. I supplemented it with Thai noodle soup and mackerel for lunch. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will not have any new inmates until the end of the month. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 11:00 AM. Had a short nap. Brought some cleaned uniforms to the sewing room. Prepared three COP OUTs to replace fluorescent bulbs for Trulinc (Computer) room, Sewing room, Library and class rooms. GED/Statistics Tutoring 12:00 – 1:45 PM, Statistics Class 1:45 – 3:00 PM. We went through the final examinations. Both the student who I tutored are doing well and they are maintaining a B and a C Grade, but their quiz and final examination should improve their grades to A and B respectively. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Pizza, pasta, green beans, salad and water. Went to sewing room and hemmed pants. Completed 24 dozens to date. Caught up on entering my journals and submitting them to Prison Professor. Now I have to enter my Book Report on Artificial Intelligence. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well an rested. She walked 8712 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 7.9%. Yesterday was the 310th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She ordered her grocery online and they will deliver it by 11:00 AM Today. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. The half moon was in mid sky, the sky was partially cloudy, beautiful sunset and dusk sky. The autonomous car company has all their equipment turned on. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8712 steps, 16.9 inches step length, symmetry was 7.9%. Yesterday was the 310th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Walked 3 miles and stretched. Caught up on submitting my journals. Good GED/Statistics tutoring sessions. Attended Statistics class. Both students did well in the Statistics examinations. Replaced two telephones. Made 2000 copies for commissary. Hemmed 24 dozen pants to date.
