The morning started out dark, foggy, breezy and cold – 44 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was filled with thick fog, visibility was about a couple thousands of feet. The autonomous car company was testing their vehicles last night. A few rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, Labrona was grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The dawn sky was on display fog followed by a band of red haze and analogous colors on top of it. Breakfast was early, no birds or squirrels were in sight, so the inmates left their food on the ground. As the sun rise, it passed through the fog and haze, its colors changed from Red, striated red, orange, yellow and bright yellow. As the fog moved in, it shielded the sun. All I could see was a bright sphere with halo around it, the sun grew brighter until it cleared the fog. It started burning off the fog. The birds appeared and feasted on the food left by the inmates. Today was commissary day and inmates braved the cold weather to stand in line for commissary. I did not get anything from the commissary. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 16 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball in the morning sunshine until 8:50 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful sunset and the dusk sky. The sunset and dusk sky were as dramatic as the dawn sky and sun rise, just at different times of the day. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky with remnants of the fog. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. She ordered her grocery at 5:00 AM and they will be delivered by 10:00 AM. Then she can change out the fruits for the altar. She walked 8540 steps, 17.7 inches step length and symmetry was 8.8%. Yesterday was the 304th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She was disappointed that GSW lost their game to the Denver Nuggets last night. She asked when will the computer room be reopened, I told her probably next Monday. I will be busy with GED/Statistics tutoring, GED Calculator applications and ACE Classes. I told her we processed three new inmates last night around 9:30 PM, so I did not get to bed until 10:00 AM. Counselor Reyes informed me, we will have two new self surrender inmates today and two more on Friday. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Did my laundry at 10:00 AM. Went to sewing room: repaired uniforms, fabricated straps for Kia and hemmed pants for penitentiary. Lunch was served at 10:18 AM, Luncheon menu: hamburger, salad, fries, apple and water. Went to warehouse with Leee Balco to secure bus bags for new inmates. Went to sewing room: exchanged jacket for Al Brown, exchanged new belt for Al Brown, measured Soto for sweat pants alterations, measured Jesus for sweat pants alterations and hemmed pants – completed 14 dozens pants so far. GED/Statistics tutoring 12:00 – 1:30 PM. GED Calculator Application class 1:30 – 2:30 PM. Laundry was done. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Fried eggs, biscuits with gravy, grits, fries and water. Th self surrender inmate was late and was sent to the SHU. ACE Class Building and Repairing Credit 5-5:30 PM.
