Journal Entry

11/24/2023 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:40 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched and drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 61 degrees F. Started walking at 6:30 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: oatmeal, roll and apple and punch.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 11/23/2023.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.

Finished walking 6 miles at 8:25 AM, walking time was 1 hour 22 minutes. Average walking times were: 13 minutes and 7 seconds per mile ( milla) or 2 minutes and 12 seconds per lap (vuelta). The morning walk started out with a fiery reddish brown dark sky but as the sun rise, the sky got lighter and faded to pastel colors. The sun rise was spectacular with the huge orange sphere. The distance smog gave it some fascinating colors. Not a cloud in sight and the wind was gusting around 20-30 miles per hour. It was cold, the temperature was in the 50’s but with the wind chill factor, it felt like in the 40’s/ Stretched and split stretched inside the recreation room in the dormitory. Finished stretching at 9:20 AM. Kind of stiff this morning, because of the cold weather. Had some donuts and a nutty bar for snacks. Cleaned the computer room. Showered at 9:40 AM. Census count at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served after the count at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, beans, an apple and punch. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris and Patches are well. They are going to dry some persimmons. I told them to get rid of the old dried persimmons, the dogs will love them for snacks. Patches will look for the 2008 – 2009 Nicleaire at the bottom of the stair case. They had chicken for dinner last night and will have roast duck for dinner tonight with some Pinot Noir. Doris only walked about 1900 steps but her symmetry was down to 20 %. I told her her gait is improving without the hard cast. She should use the stepper to help build her ankle muscles. They plan on visiting again tomorrow, around 10:30-11:00 AM. I look forward to their visit. I will be working on my Book and Class reports today. Worked on my Criminal Thinking book report at the library. We had a power outage at 1:30 PM and we had to return to the unit. Took a nap. Census count at 3:30 PM. Power was restored at 3:45 PM but email and phone services were still down. Dinner was served at 4:00 PM. Dinner menu: hot dog with shredded chicken, beans, and punch and an apple. Worked on my book report Criminal Thinking. It is a good book which teaches you how to think constructively to avoid getting into conflicts and achieve positive desired outcome. Completed book report at 5:30 PM. census count at 6:30 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Unfortunately, I was not able to sent out my daily dairy, I am worried that Doris will feel anxious and think something bad might have happened to me instead of power outage and no access to email and phone services. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris and Patches are well. They are busy drying the persimmons and figs. They will visit me tomorrow. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Completed book report. Doris gait has improved.
