The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy, sparse clouds and cold – 48 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of black smoke in the Eastern, Southern and Western horizons, the 3/4 moon was in mid sky. The autonomous car company was not testing their vehicles this morning. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display: a range of red color filled the band of haze, analogous colors peeking over the Sierras, 3/4 moon in the mid sky and the contrasting dark blue sky. The birds appeared after breakfast and were feasting on food left on the ground by the inmates. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the reddish orange sphere illuminated the sky and warmed the air. The moon was still at mid sky at one o’clock, it would normally be setting over the Western horizons. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 1 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 10 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 2 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:30 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose. I was informed by John that I had to help Magdaleno at the front office. Went to the front office at 8:50 AM. Made 2000 copies of commissary list. Brought package for mail to warehouse. Back to the dormitory at 10:10 AM. Educational Supervisor informed me that Josue Torres passed his GED. I congratulated Josue with his accomplishments after trying several times. He was glad I helped him with the GED tutoring. Talked to Doris at 10:15 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was still sore from the fall but is managing. She was waiting for Nick and Diana to Smog the Genesis and registration afterwards. I told her I just came back after making 2000 copies for Magdaleno. The GSW/Clippers game is one tonight. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: burrito, shredded chicken, beans, carrots, apple and water. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 10:40 AM.
