The morning started out dark, hazy, light breeze and cool -47 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was very hazy with plumes of dark smoke in the Eastern, Southern and Western horizons. The autonomous car company tested their car last night but stopped in the morning. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display as the cirrus clouds were peach golden color, band of red haze and analogous colors about the haze. As the morning progressed, the haze and plumes of smoke were more visible. The birds appeared after breakfast and were feasting on the food left on the ground by the inmates. As the sun rise, the red sphere was hazy and striated by the dark smoke, as it ascended it changed to orange and to bright yellow and it warmed up the air. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 16 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 16 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:50 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized our Route 66 trip to Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City is the city of fountains, there were water fountains all over the city. We had lunch at teh famous Joe’s Barbeque, it was well known. We ordered a variety of meats: sausage, chicken, brisquets, burnt ends and dry rub pork ribs. The BBQ tasted very good and we packed out left over. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. We were lucky to get everything we ordered as we were first in line. The left over tasted even better after our touring of the city. Opened my eyes to the hazy blue sky with plumes of dark smoke. The smoke was from the Central Valley and Mountain fires. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. She received my DMV registration renewal for the Hyundai Genesis and it needed smog. She will get Christina’s friend to help her get the smog certificate. Diana is coming by the house to get Doris to help her make a design for her Tote Bag. She was disappointed with the Warriors lost to the Cavaliers but they played better in the second half. She said the Persimmons tree was loaded with lots of Persimmons. She will probably go pick some for herself. I will have a relaxing day to catch up on my reading. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM.. Luncheon menu: fried eggs, fries, pancake with syrup, banana and water. Census count at 10:00 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8604 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 7.4%. Yesterday was the 279th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The dogs are well. Diana is coming by to get Doris to help design a tote bag. She feel asleep during the Warriors game, they played better but still lost the game. She hope it is not a start of a losing streak as they will be playing the Oklahoma City Thunders next. She will have a quiet relaxing day at home. Kein was complaining that he spent over $90 on his fishing trip but did not catch any fish. He could have bought a lot of fish for $90. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:30 AM. Had a nap. Went to the library to do some reading – Statistics. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: meat loaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn,, bread and water.
