11/9/2023 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 65 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at6:05 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin, punch and an apple.

Plan for Today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 11/8/2023.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. ACE Class Personal Finance 6-6:30 PM.
  8. GED Tutoring 12- 2:30 PM.

Completed walking 6 miles in 1 hour 19 minutes and 5 seconds at 8:00 AM. Average walking times were 13 minutes 11 seconds per mile (Milla) or 2 minutes 12 seconds per lap (Vuelta). The morning walk started out dark and cold. As the sun rise, the dawn sky with its full array of colors was on display and the sun rise orange sphere was spectacular. As the sun rose, it warmed the air and made it comfortable. Finished walking at 8:00 AM, stretched in the sunlight at the basketball court. Stretching in the sunlight was pleasant. Completed my split stretch and roll my legs with a foam core roller, felt great after rolling my sore legs. Completed stretches at 8:50 AM. Had some donuts, nutty bar and warm water for snacks. Mrs. Hubbard informed me that the GED class were cancelled because they have to prepare for the Veteran’s Day event and barbeque for the officers. Showered at 9:30 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:05 AM: Doris is well. She read my yesterday dairy and knew I was going to be busy hemming 49 dozen of pants. She walked yesterday, though she was frustrated, her step length improved to 16.2 Inches. I told her when she is frustrated or upset, her step length usually increases. I told her the GED classes were cancelled in preparation for the Veteran’s Day event and barbeque for the officers. I had to cut the conversation short as they were serving lunch. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, rice, bread, punch and an apple. Went to sewing room to cut pants to proper length for hemming. Finished cutting until 3:00 PM, completed cutting 14 dozens pants thus far. Dinner was served at 3:05 PM. Dinner menu: shredded chicken, beets, salad, bread and soup. Census count at 3:30 PM. Received several ACE Class Certifications. Took a short nap. Jon offered a piece of baked chicken to me, it was delicious. Went to the library to work on my Spanish lessons. ACE Class Personal Finance 6-6:30 PM. back to the unit at 7:00 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
It was a good day: Doris is well and she was happy. She walked yesterday and her step length improved to 16.2 inches. Walked 6 miles, split stretched. Attended ACE Class. GED Classes were cancelled. Started cutting up pants for hemming, it will take a few weeks to cut the pants and a few weeks to hem them.
