The morning started out dark, very hazy, light breeze and cool. The lower atmosphere was very hazy, plumes of dark smoke in the Southern and Western horizons, the outline of the Sierras and Santa Lucia highlands were not visible. The autonomous car company was testing their vehicles. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with red band of haze and analogous colors peeking over the Sierras. The birds appeared after breakfast and feasted on the food left by the inmates. As the sun rise, the outline of the Sierras were barely visible, the orange reddish sphere brightened the sky and warmed the air. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 40 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 16 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per mile. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:40 AM. The stretch and yoga practice felt good after the cool morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized our trip to Lubbock, Texas while on our Route 66 trip. The city looks the same except more freeways and the 4th was a thoroughfare. The University looks the same and the guards were nice to let us drive through the campus. Visited the West Texas museum. Walked all over campus to reminisce my good old days at Texas Tech. Opened my eyes to the hazy blue sky. Called Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. The house alarm worked well. She will cleaned the patio and get the garbage can ready for pickup tomorrow. Kein will drop by the house to take Doris to the temple in Oakland. After that if there is time she would like to have lunch and shop at Ranch 99. She enjoyed the GSW win over the Celtics. GSW is now the number one team in the West. I told her I will have tutoring and Statistics class and ACE Class tonight, it should be an easy day. Counselor Reyes informed me that we have a new inmate off the bus and assigned him to bunk #60U. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She is going to the temple with Kein today. She walked 8752 steps, 17.5 inches step length and symmetry was 7.6%. Yesterday was the 277th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The home alarm worked well. She has to clean the backyard and put the trash cans out for garbage pickup tomorrow. Brought some cleaned uniforms to the sewing room. Camp manager Mr. Echeveste came by the sewing room and asked me to clean it up. Jon brought some Khaki uniforms for repairs. Cleaned the sewing room. Went to warehouse to secure inventory for sewing room and Bus bag for the new inmate. Happy sent the merchandise to the sewing room. GED/Statistics tutoring 12:00-1:45 PM. Statistics class 1:45 – 3:00 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: two hot dogs, fries, bread, Cole slaw and water. Inmate showed up at 5:00 PM and I processed him. ACE Spanish class 5-5:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
