The morning started out dark, hazy, light breeze and cool – 54 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark smoke on the Western horizon, I could smell the smoke. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and red band of haze. The autonomous car company was testing their vehicles intermittently. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. After breakfast, the birds appeared and were feasting on food left by inmates. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras, brightened the sky and warmed the air. Finished walking six miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 45 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes 18 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:40 AM. The stretch an Yoga practice felt good after the morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful sunset and the dusk sky. The dusk sky was really spectacular and the big crescent moon was in the Western sky, the sky got darker blue. Opened my eyes to the bright blue sky. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. It was cold and drizzling in Pinole. She fed and let the dogs out, she fed them individually instead of letting them eat from the automatic dispenser. She will walk indoors to keep dry and warm. She checked the BOP website and my release date was updated to April 21, 2026. Diana still has stomach problem. She read my ACE Class report and liked it. She wondered when I will cook for her. She enjoyed the GSW/Rockets game and will watch the GSW/Wizards game tonight. I told her I will be busy with tutoring and ACE Classes today. Counselor Reyes informed me, that we will have a new self surrender inmate today. Not sure how many will come off the bus. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8705 steps, 16.8 inches step length and symmetry was 7.5%. Yesterday was the 274th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will raise her step threshold to 9,000 steps after her shot in December. She checked the BOP website and my release date was updated to April 21, 2026. She finished her X’Mas design for her Etsy webpage. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken breast sandwich, salad, apple pudding and water. Brough some cleaned uniforms to sewing room: repaired uniforms, repaired pants for Gudgel and prepared bus bag for new inmate. Had a short nap. GED/Statistics tutoring 12:00 – 3:30 PM. Good tutoring sessions. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: pork burritos, corn, rice, black beans, Cole slaw and water.
