10/22/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:00 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report. high temperature for today is 78 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark smoke, sparse clouds in the Eastern horizon and the 1/2 moon in mid sky. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with a band of red haze, analogous peeking over the Sierras and the dark blue sky. The autonomous car company was testing their car continuously. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the morning progressed the clouds turned to golden, red, orange, yellow and mauve colors and analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The squirrels did not appear after breakfast but the inmates left their food on the ground. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the red sphere illuminated the clouds an date outline of the Sierras creating a beautiful scene. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 20 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:40 AM. The Stretch an Yoga practice felt good after the morning walk an I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance an breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized out trip to King’s Valley National Park. It was a nice scenic drive to Redwood Groves, dep ravines carved out by the river, dramatic rock structures and we stopped by various vista points for pictures. The air was clean and crisp. Opened my eyes to the blue sky with the 1/2 moon. Counselor Reyes told me we will have a new inmate tomorrow. Talked to case manager Mr Larsen: he received my relocation package, now it needs approval by the warden and he will submit my package for approval to the Regional Reentry Manager (RRM). Unfortunately, the RRM will not approve home confinement in addition to One year Half Way house. So it pushed my half way house date to Mid April 2025, it was disappointment. Unfortunately, it is the decision of the RRM. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken breast sandwich, rice, spinach, apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. I told her I met with Mr Larsen an the earliest half way house date is mid April 2025. She said she will have to wait for another six months. But she is resilient to put up with the disappointment. Brought some jackets to the sewing room. Went to library to work on my book report. Checked email form Doris: She is well and rested. She walked 8964 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was the 262nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. I broke the delay half way house date to April 2025 to her. GED/ Statistics tutoring 12:00 – 1:45 PM. The tutoring session went well. Statistics class 1:45 – 3:00 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner menu was served after the count. Dinner menu: broccoli beef, rice, green beans and water. GED Math Tutoring 4-6:00 PM. ACE Class Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM> Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day despite the disappointment: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8964 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was the 262nd consecutive days she close the ring on her iPhone. Walked 6 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Class and Statistics classes. Good GED/ Statistics tutoring sessions.
