10/13/2024 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned dup, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 82 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (semola de maiz, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning started out dark, foggy, light breeze and cool. The lower atmosphere was fogged up. The dawn sky consisted of a bright spot over the Sierras in the Eastern horizon. The autonomous car company was not testing their vehicles today. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the morning progressed, the sky brightened but the camp was shrouded in fog. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. The fog was too thick and I could only see a bright spot in the sky amid the dense fog. Looks like a gloomy Tully fog day. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 18 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 13 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 2 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:40 AM. The Yoga practice felt good after the morning walk and I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practiced with the corpse pose and visualized out trip to Kaibab National Park at Williams, Arizona. Hiked through the trail on Kaibab park where there were old Indian dwellings by the cliff. The white sandstone Kaibab cliff had carvings and ancient drawings by past inhabitants. The air was clean and the hike was refreshing. Opened my eyes to the fog. Attended ACE Advanced Spanish class 8:40 – 9:30 AM. Theme for today was books – Libros. Good Conversational Spanish class. Education supervisor announced on the Public Announcement system that Adlison Monteiro passed his GED examination, He had taken the examination 6-7 times until I started tutoring him. He finally passed his GED, it lifted the spirit of the camp, but other students were waiting for their results too. Hopefully Mr Johnson will announce the rest of the results soon. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: scrambled eggs, biscuits with gravy, fries, apple and water. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. She wished me a Happy Birthday. She checked out the FSA calculator and inputted the information required and it projected my half way house date for 10/23/2024 and home confinement date of 7/6/2025. It was the second good news I have received today. I told her I will be working on another ACE Class Report and do some reading and tutoring Statistics. Census count at 10:00 AM. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:30 AM. Checked email from Doris at 10:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8650 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 77%. Yesterday was the 253rd consecutive days she close the ring on her iPhone. The Yong clans, Doris and Karlee wished me a Happy Birthday an hoped for an early release. She calculated my release date on the FSA calculator and it showed a possible half way house date of 10/23/2024 and home confinement date of 7/6/2025, evidently this included the second chance act (SCA). Had a short nap. Went to the library to do some reading and tutored Statistics. Census count at 3:30 PM CO for Visitation was CO Cruz. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: roast beef, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, bread and water. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
