The morning started out dark, breezy, hazy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and was reddish color. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with the analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and the contrasting dark blue sky. The autonomous car company was not testing their cars today but their flood lights were on. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The rabbits are a lot bigger. As the morning progressed, the sky brightened and analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the red sphere illuminated the Sierras and the band of haze creating a picturesque scene. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 24 seconds. The average walking times were: 12 minutes and 14 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:40 AM. The Yoga practice felt good after the walk and I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance, and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized my trip to Zion National Park, where we drove through the big rock formations and the Vermillion wave rock, made from millions of years of sedimentary rocks. There were different layers pf pastels colored rock and we were allowed to walk on them. There were beautiful vistas all along the drive where we stopped to take pictures. The air was clean and cool as were there in early May. Opened my eyes to the to the clear blue sky. Attended the ACE beginning Spanish Class 8:40 – 9:30 AM. Theme for today was Education – Educaciones. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: nachos, beans, rice, cheese, Pluot and water. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. I told her to check out the new calculator on the BOP website that will calculate our release date to include second chance act. As it could mean an earlier release date in December 2024 instead of April 2025 to half way house. This calculation was just added this week. She will check out the calculator and ask me if she has any questions. I told her the visitation room was quiet as most people thinks we are still on lockdown. She will stay home and work on her new designs for her Etsy account. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:20 AM. Had a short nap. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8641 steps, 16.6 inches step length and symmetry was 73%. Yesterday was the 252nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The weather in Pinole was turning cold and she will walk indoors to keep warm. It might rain in Pinole today. She was hoping to visit this weekend, but I told her to visit next week. Also there were not many people in visitation as they thought that we were still in a lockdown. I reminded her to check out the new calculator from the BOP website to calculate my new half way house date. I told her I will work on my book report. Completed Book Report on the Science of Breath. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Cheesy chicken, carrots, pasta, bread and water. ACE Class Building Permit process 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM.
