10/10/2023 Tuesday daily Diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:15 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 74 degrees F. Started walking at 6:05 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin and an apple.

- Walk 6 Miles.

- ACE Classes – Art History 1 4-5 PM, Religious History 5-5:30 PM and 12 Essential Scientific Concepts 6-6:30 PM.
- Walk with EASE 7-8 PM.
Cleaned the computer room. Finished walking at 7:40 AM, completed 6 miles in 1 hour 14 minutes and 15 seconds. Average time was 12 minutes 4 seconds per mile or 2 minutes 1 second per lap. The morning walk started out dark but was warm because of the high cloud cover. The rabbits and frogs were out on the field and on the trail. As the sun rose, it was a beautiful sight as the cloud were high above the Sierras and it was clear from the Mountain to the high clouds. The sun snuck under the cloud to create a sensational sight, orange sphere illuminating some of the lower clouds to give a tint of yellow to the clouds. The walk was nice and quiet, initial three miles was a slow pace but the final three miles was at a faster pace as I began to sweat profusely after the eighteen lap (diesicocho Vuelta). Stretched at the basketball court until 8:20 AM. It was nice stretching in the sunlight as it broke through the clouds momentarily while I was stretching. Dried up and changed to dry t shirt. Found out from the counselor Reyes that we have three new incoming inmates coming to the camp today. Went to the warehouse to stock up on items for inmates: 11 dozen socks, 4 dozen XL T shirts, 5 dozen 2XL T shirt, 5 dozen L t shirt, 10 commissary bags. Back to the laundry room to prepare items for inmates. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Chicken sandwich, pasta, beans and an apple. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM; Doris is well. She found the Report on Diabetes and read it again, she had forgotten about it. She liked the report as it pertain to her. Patches visitation application was completed and she is mailing it out today with Diana. I told her I am teaching the Art History class today. She inquired about the morning sun rise which I described in my report, I told her that is something I enjoy every morning, she wished I could take a picture of the spectacular sun rise. I told her I was busy as we have three new inmates coming to the camp today.
Showered at 11:30 AM. Inmates were at the camp at 11:45 AM. I processed the new inmates and issued them their clothing, blankets, sheets, jackets, shirt and pants. Finished processing them at 12: 20 PM. Washed a load of laundry at 1:30 PM. Dinner was served at 3:00 PM. Dinner menu: Ground meat, rice, green beans and bread. I supplemented the dinner with a packet of sardine. Finished my laundry at 3:30 PM. Census count was late at 4:00 PM. ACE Classes Art History 1, 4-5 PM and 12 Essential Scientific Concepts 6-6:30 PM. Walk with EASE 7-8 PM. Worked on book and class reports in between classes. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 10:00 PM.
Today was good day: Doris is well. The dogs are well. Doris completed Patches visitation application. She contacted Tom Johnson who is working on the case. Walked 6 miles. Beautiful sun rise. Taught Art History 1 class. Attended ACE and EBRR Classes.
