The morning started out dark, clear, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy which turned red when illuminated. The Beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and the contrasting Blue sky. The autonomous car company was not testing their vehicles today. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the morning progressed, the sky brightened and analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: Red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. AS the sun rise over the Sierras, the red sphere illuminated the haze and the outline of the Sierras creating a beautiful scene. Walked 3 miles and ran the final three miles. Completed 6 miles at 7:40 AM, ran the final three miles in 28 minutes and 47 seconds. Average walking times were: 9 minutes and 36 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 36 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I was sweating and I had to walk extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. The Yoga practice felt good after walking and running 6 miles. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized our trip to Canyon Land National Park. We were driving through the canyon of large boulders, instead of looking at them from a Vista Point. The boulders were huge and rounded from the glaciers and the lush vegetations on the drive. We climbed on some large boulders. The air in the National Park was very clean. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky. Today was commissary day but I did not need anything from the store. Gifted some of my excess food stuff to: Jon, Chan, John and Happy. Talked to Doris at 9:10 AM: Doris is well and rested. She will try to contact sergeant Rogers to see when he might come by the house. In the meantime, she will contact Richmond Police. She went shopping yesterday with Diana for fruits and flowers. She said Columbus day was a public holiday and wanted to visit. I told her to stick to our biweekly schedule. Counselor Reyes told me we might have a new self surrender inmate today and assigned him to bunk #26U. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:40 AM. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: hamburger, chips, milk, apple and water. Had a short nap. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8901 steps, 16.7 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 259 consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She went shopping with Diana yesterday. She will try to contact Sargent Rogers and Richmond Police to dispose of my hand gun. Went to sewing room: repaired jackets and prepared bus bag for new inmate. GED/ESL and Statistics tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. New inmate arrived at the camp at 2:00 PM and John Liu processed him. Went to sewing room: to fabricate two pillows and cases for Jorge. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Chef salad mixed vegetables, beets, bread and water.
