10/5/2023 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 94 degrees F. Started walking at 6:18 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffin and an apple.

Plan for today:

  4. Walk 6 miles.

Completed the first three miles in 39 minutes and 23 seconds and the total six miles in 1 hour 14 minutes and 9 seconds, completed the walk at 7:50 AM. Stretched until 8:20 AM. Average time for first three miles was 13 minutes 8 seconds per mile or 2 minutes 12 seconds per lap, warm up pace. The Final three miles was 34 minutes 46 seconds, averaged 1 minute 59 seconds or 11 minutes 22 seconds per mile, pretty fast pace, no wonder I was sweating profusely on the second leg of my walk. The walk started out dark and cold, as usual I was the only one out on the trail. The start temperature for my walk was in the high 50’s. The sun rise was beautiful amid the smog, because it gives it different colors. Nice walk and a good workout. Stretched at the basketball court in the sunshine, felt good with the warm sunshine. Dried up and changed to dry T shirt. Picked up my commissary items at 8:30 AM, spent $110.75 at the commissary. Exchanged three pairs of pants and two shirts for Vello. Treated myself to a couple of donuts and warm water. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Lunch Menu: Baked Chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and sounded cheerful. Diana, Kein and Mava will be by around 1:00 PM to compress the cuttings and have lunch at China Kitchen. She tried to contact Thomas Johnson but as usual it is difficult to get a hold of him, because he is very busy. She found my release plan on her computer. She recommended that we do an attachment rather than rewrite the whole plan. That’s a good idea but we will also need to update certain sections of the Release plan like names of Counselor, Case Manager, work supervisor and others. We will update areas that need update and attachments for my EBRR classes, ACE Classes, Training, Certificates, book reports and other accomplishments. Also a cover letter to high light my training and accomplishments s well as directing them to my personal website. The dogs are doing well. I told her I will be sending my class report for Art History 1, hopefully today. She recommended that I take up painting, I told her I rather enjoy the Art than create it, as it takes a long time and efforts. I told her I will also write a book report and class report on my Spanish lessons when I am done but in English not Spanish. Joseph called for welfare check and said I am doing well. She ask about my possible release date, I told her optimistically it would be December 2024, and worst case would be Dec 2025. After my second team review I will be earning 15 days per month after my favorable review. Paid Chan for 2 photos taken with Doris, Kein, Diana and me. Paid extra two photo tickets for week of 10/14/2023. Sewed a pair of pants for Bowen. Dinner was served at 3:10 PM. Dinner menu: shredded chicken, beet, potato soup, salad and bread. Census count at 3:30 PM. ACE Classes – Philosophy of Emotions 4-4:30 PM, Sociology 5-5:30 PM and Personal Finance 6-6:30 PM. Brain Health as you age 7-8 PM. Worked on my Spanish lessons between classes. Census count at 8:00 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
