10/2/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 100 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:45 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, pluot and water ( Harina de avena, torta, leche, ezucar, pluot y agua).

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed out to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. Th second wave of workers were due at the Front Office at 6:30 AM. The morning started out dark, breezy, hazy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and was reddish orange color when illuminated. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors peeking over the Sierras with the dare\k blue sky in the background. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The autonomous Car company was snot testing their vehicles this morning. As the morning progressed. The sky brightened with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. Completed walking 3 miles before breakfast. The squirrels appeared after breakfast scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Headed to the Front Office at 6:50 AM. We were told to come back at 7:45 AM because of medical movements for inmates. Went back to front office at 7:45 AM. CO Almanza checked us into the Penitentiary at 8:20 AM. Went to laundry room: Washed and dried laundry for sections: 6A, 6B and 5A; washed and dried sheets and blankets for section 5A: washed and dried laundry for RHU section 2A and 2B; made 120 bed rolls; sorted cleaned uniforms, boxers, towels, t-Shirts, socks and miscellaneous; folded more sheets and blankets for blanket exchange. Went to commissary to prepare hygiene commissary for sections 5A and 5B. Went to cafeteria for lunch at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: fried chicken breast, apples, Pluots, cookies and water. Back to commissary: prepared hygiene commissary for section 6A and 6B. Went back to laundry: sorted uniforms, t shirts,boxers and socks; folded sheets and blankets. Left the Penitentiary at 12:50 PM. Arrived at the dormitory at 1:00 PM. Rodrigo Santos tutored the GED/ESL Classes. Statistics Class 1:45 – 3:00 PM. Talked to Doris at 3:10 PM: Doris is well and rested. Comcast will come by the house tomorrow to activate the landline between 2-4 PM. EBMUD came by to notify Doris that we have been using a lot of water. Doris will call the plumber to see if he can look into the leakage. I told her we got out early form the Penitentiary today. Went to Statistics class and will have ACE Class tonight. She said she received my journal early last night. She will talk to Salvador Tinoco tomorrow. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Pull pork, bread, rice, spinach and water. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8905 steps, step length was 16.9 inches and symmetry was 68%. Yesterday was the 251st consecutive days she close the ring on her iPhone. The weather is cool in Pinole and she will walk indoors to keep warm. Comcast had reschedules to come by the house tomorrow to activate the landline between 2-4 PM. Went to sewing room: altered pants and shirt for Jesus Lopez, brought cleaned uniforms; repaired, sized and put away uniforms; altered pants for Severiano Soto: fabricated pillow case for Jorge. Census count at 6:00 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8905 steps, step length was 16.9 inches and symmetry was 68%. Yesterday was the 251st consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Comcast will reactivate the landline tomorrow between 2-4 PM. She will contact Salvador Tinoco tomorrow. Walked 3 miles and stretched. Attended ACE and Statistics classes. Final day working at the Penitentiary. We might be back again soon, as they were already fighting in one of the units.
