10/1/2023 Sunday Daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:40 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, change to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 73 degrees F. Started walking at 6:30 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:35 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, bread and apple.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Email daily diary for 9/30/2023.
  4. Walk 6 miles.
  5. Yoga.
  6. Quotations.
  7. ACE Classes East European cities 4-4:30 PM and Physiology and Fitness 5-5:30 PM and Psychology of Incarceration’s 6-6:30 PM.
  8. Getting to know you Healthy aging body 7-8 PM.

Finished walking at 8:20 AM. The morning walk was cold and overcast. I was able to see the sun rise over the Sierras before it was shielded by the high clouds. The solitude on the morning trail was great. As the morning wore on, a couple more inmates started walking on the trail. My first 3 miles was at a warm up pace. Final three miles was at a faster pace as I worked up a good sweat. Stretched until 8:30 AM. Then dried up and change to dry T shirt. Started Yoga practice at 8:50 AM at the basketball court. Finished the Yoga practice at 10:00 AM. The sun broke through the cloud and provided a ray of sunshine on my Yoga Practice. It was a nice day to practice Yoga. Managed to go through most of the poses and worked up a good sweat. Ended up with the corpse pose and opened my eyes to the cloudy sky with some filtered sun rays. Census at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served after the count. Luncheon menu: 2 eggs, toast with syrup, banana and fries. Talked to Doris at 10:45 AM: Doris is well and did not have a asthma for the last couple of days. She has scheduled appointments for see Dr Jasmine Lee and Scott Lee in October. She received her shots for Dr Yang before she went on her honey moon. Patches is coming over to US on November 18,2023 and would like to visit during the Thanksgiving weekend. I told Doris to have Patched send her all the information and a copy of her passport and fill it out for Patches before she gets to US. I told her I completed my walk and Yoga practice this morning and probably practice my Spanish and read up on Art History/ The dogs are well. Diana is coming by the house to accompany Doris to get some flowers. Doris is working on her Christmas inventory. Kein dropped by yesterday with a pot of pork bell with soy sauce. She inquired about Mava’s card, who is supposed to cleaned up the front yard tomorrow. Showered at 11:00 AM. Went to the library to read and worked on my Spanish lessons. Back to the unit at 2:30 PM. Had a short nap. Woke up at 2:50 PM for the AAPI dinner, which included Teriyaki beef and rice. Dinner was served at 3:00 PM, dinner included: rice, tacos and ground meat. Th AAPI Teriyaki beef was delicious. Census at 3:30 PM. ACE Classes from 4:00 – 6:30 PM. getting to know your healthy aging body 7-8 PM. We had several examinations: Warehouse safety, How your body functions and Physiology and Fitness. I did very well and passed all three of the examinations. Reviewed my Spanish lessons in between classes. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 8:30 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and the dogs are well too. Walked 6 miles, practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes and EBRR classes. Good AAPI dinner.
