9/30/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 94 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:45 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, pluot and water (Harina de avena, torta, leche, ezucar, pluot y agua).

  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 9/29/2024.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Yoga.
  8. Quotations.
  9. ACE Classes Geography and Travel, 5-5:30 PM and Culinary Arts 1, professional Chef, 6-6:30 PM.
  10. GED/ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy, cool and smell of smoke. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark smoke and created a band of reddish orange over the Sierras. The inverted crescent moon was in the Eastern horizon. The beautiful dawn sky was on display, dark blue sky contrasting with analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and the inverted crescent moon in the Eastern horizon. As the morning progressed, the sky brightened and analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields and scampered away as we approached them. Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The Autonomous vehicle company did not test their cars this morning. Completed walking three miles before breakfast. Headed to the Front Office at 6:50 AM. The sun was rising over the Sierras. We were turned back because of Medical movements of inmates. Went back to the Front Office at 7:45 AM. CO Gonzaga checked us into the Penitentiary at 8:30 AM. Went to the Laundry room: washed and dried laundry for sections: 3A,, 3B. 1A, 1B and SHU: folded sheets and blankets: washed and dried sheets and blankets for section 5A: Sorted towels, shoes, uniforms, boxers and miscellaneous for R & D. Went to Cafeteria for lunch. Luncheon menu: Pizza, apples,pluots, granola bars, cookies and water. Went back to laundry room: folded sheets and blankets: made 100 bed rolls and cleaned up the laundry room. Went to commissary: prepared hygiene commissary for sections: 4A and 4B. Left the Penitentiary at 1:45 PM. Arrived at the dormitory at 2:00 PM. Secretary Mrs. Chavez told me we might have a self surrender inmate today. Talked to Doris at 2:30 PM: Doris is well and rested. She just got back from Best Buy. She bought a cordless phone that was compatible with Comcast system. She made an appointment with Comcast to come by the house to install the landline on 10/11/2024. I told her I will have ACE Classes tonight. She asked about the Autonomous Vehicle company testing their vehicles next to the camp. She liked my ACE Class Reports on Nutrition and Psychology,, but was not sure how to calculate the BMR. I told her hoe to estimate her BMR. Rodrigo Santos tutored the ESL/GED classes. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8634 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the 250th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. It was cold in Pinole and she will walk indoors to keep warm. She made an appointment with Comcast to activate the landline on 10/11/2024. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Chicken fried rice, beans, mixed vegetables, bread and water. Went to sewing room: sewed socks for Frank, sewed pillow case for Lyndon and altered shirts and pants for Jesus Lopez. ACE Classes Geography Travel – Vietnam, 5-5:30 PM and Culinary Art Class – Grilling and Broiling 6-6:30 PM. Census count at t 6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8634 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the 250th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Doris bought a phone for the landline, now we will wait for Comcast to activate in on 10/11/2024. Walked three miles and stretched. Attended ACE classes. Rodrigo Santos tutored the GED/ESL classes.
