9/27/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 94 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, pluot and water (Harina de avena, torta, leche, ezucar, pluot y agua).

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed out to the Penitentiary by 5:30 AM. The morning started dark, hazy, slight breeze and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and it was reddish color. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with contrasting analogous colors peeking over the Sierras with the crescent moon in mid sky and the dark blue sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the morning progressed, the sky brightened an the analogous colors were radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue an blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it illuminated the Sierras and the lower atmosphere creating a picturesque scene. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Completed walking three miles before breakfast. headed to the Front Office at 7:00 AM. Helped cleaned the Front Office, Lobby for Memorial of CO Fisher. CO Almanza checked us into the Penitentiary at 8:00 AM. Went to the laundry room: washed and dried laundry for sections: 4A and 4B: dried sheets, blankets and uniforms for sections 6A and 6B; folded blankets and sheets for bedrolls; delivered cleaned laundry for sections 4A and 4B. Completed all laundry chores by 10:30 AM. Left the Penitentiary at 11:00 AM. Back to the dormitory at 10:40 AM. Checked with Counselor Reyes, no new inmates until 9/30/2024, Monday. Called Doris at 11:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. She sent me the details of the Visitation by probation officer Salvador Tinoco by email. She inquired about my journal for 9/26/2024, I told her it was sent at 9:00 PM last night. Unfortunately she did not receive my Journal. I sent it to Prison Professor and Doris Yong. I will verify that the journal was sent at 9:00 PM yesterday. The sun was out but the temperature was cool. She was out in the backyard to: enjoy the weather, walk without her cast, let the dogs out an enjoy the fruit trees. I will check her email for details of the visit by Salvador Tinoco. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8712 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 77%. Yesterday was the 247th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Probation Officer Salvador Tinoco visited our house, inspected every room and closets, verify the occupants of the house,, recommended that we install a land line, I will have to wear a ankle bracelet when I am on home confinement, he will contact Doris next week, Doris was please with the visitation with Salvador. Went to sewing room: hemmed two dozens shorts, repaired bely for Cody Carlson, repair sweats for Frank, repaired jackets, measured alterations for shirt and pants for Jesus Torres, cleaned the sewing room. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Chef salad, rice, beans and water. ACE Classes US History 1933 -1945, 5-5:30 PM and Economic Theory Part3, 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8712 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 77%. Yesterday was the 247th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She had a good meeting with probation officer Salvador Tinoco. Walked three miles and stretched. Attended ACE classes. Completed 6 dozens shorts for SHU, only two dozens left.
