9/24/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 100 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. The first wave of workers were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. The second wave was due at the Penitentiary at 7:00 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and it gives it color when the sunshine on it. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with dark blue sky contrasting with analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and the half moon was in mid sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The autonomous vehicle company has been testing their cars 24 hours a day, they are located next to the Prison camp. As the morning progressed the sky brightened with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it illuminated the outline of the Sierras giving it depth coupled with the reddish orange color of the haze, it created a picturesque scene. Th squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Completed walking three miles before breakfast. Headed to front office at 6:50 AM. CO Almanza checked us into the Penitentiary. We went to the laundry room while lie, Jaramillo and Happy went to the commissary. At the laundry, we: washed laundry for section 2A, 2B, 6A and 6B: Folded blankets and sheets from sections 6A and 6B; folded blanket and sheets and made 120 Bed rolls: sorted out uniforms for R & D; Delivered laundry for section 3A and 3B. Went to commissary: prepared hygiene commissary for sections 3A and 3B. Went to the cafeteria for lunch. Luncheon menu: scrambled eggs, biscuits with gravy, potatoes, apples, cookies and water. Went back to the commissary: prepared Hygiene commissary for section 1A and 1B. Left the Penitentiary at 12:50 PM. Arrived at the dormitory at 1:00 PM. Counselor informed me we won’t have any new inmates until 9/26/2024 – possibly one self surrender. Had a short nap. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8709 steps, 17.2 inches step length and symmetry was 79%. Yesterday was the 244th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She might go shopping with Diana today. The dogs are well. Statistics class 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Co Johnson had 10 TI 80 calculators for the class to use. The topic for today were: Box ploys, 1 variable set and standard deviations. Talked to Doris at 3:00 PM: Doris is well and rested. There was a fire behind Target and the air was smoky and she can smell it. I told her to be careful when she goes outside. She went shopping with Diana for fruits and flowers for the Altar. She will walk indoors to avoid the smoke. I told her I had a busy day at the Penitentiary. They had a emergency bunk count at 3:30 PM. Jon delivered some jackets, wash cloths and belts. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Pepper pork, green beans, bread and water. Census count at 5:40 PM. ACE Class Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8709 steps, 17.2 inches step length and symmetry was 79%. Yesterday was the 244th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She went shopping with Diana for flowers and fruits for the Altar. The dogs are doing well. The air quality is bad in Pinole because of the fire near Target. Walked three miles and stretched. Attended ACE and Statistics classes.
