9/24/2023 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up and changed to BOP inform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 84 degrees F. Started walking at 6:30 AM. breakfast was served at 6:40 AM. Breakfast menu: grits, bread, jelly and bread.

- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Email daily diary for 9/23/2023.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Yoga.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Eastern European cities 4-4:30 PM, Physiology and Fitness 5-5:30 PM, and Psychology of Incarceration’s 6-6:30 PM.
- Getting to know your healthy aging body 7-8 PM.
Finished walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM. Time for first 3 miles was 37 minutes 54 seconds. Final 3 miles was 35 minutes 20 seconds. First 3 miles averaged 2 minutes 7 seconds per lap or 12 minutes 42 seconds per mile. Final 3 miles averaged 1 minute 58 seconds per lap or 11 minutes 35 seconds per mile. It was pretty cold in the morning, temperature was in the 50’s. But as I started walking my body warmed up and I had to take off my shirt. As the sun rose over the Sierras I was warmed up. the rabbits were out in droves, feasting on the fresh grass. Usually, when I start walking I am the only one maybe a couple more inmates might join me early, but as the sun rose more inmates joined us. It was nice walk and refreshing, it woke me up. After the walk, dried up and changed my T-shirt and stretched and Yoga at the basketball court at 8:20 AM. Finished Yoga at 9:45 AM. It was a strenuous practice. Practiced several new poses and stretching poses. It was a good workout but was relaxing after the practice. Census count at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served after the lunch. Luncheon menu: 2 eggs, fries, toast with syrup and banana. Washed a load of BOP greens at 10:50 AM. Talked to Doris at 11:00 AM: Doris is well, she had an asthma attack last night. But she is Okay. She liked my Class Report on Art History 3, it reminded her of her course work in college. She encouraged me to write about home safety. The dogs are well but barked a lot last night. I asked her to have someone check the battery of the DE barker located on the shelf, it was probably out of battery. i told her I was reading and writing at the library today. She will be busy working on her Christmas Inventory.
Showered at 11:20 AM. Changed to casual clothes. Went to the sewing room to do some sewing and issued a jacket to Ohanian. Started reading Beginning Spanish. Dinner was served at 3:10 PM. Dinner menu: Roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans and bread. Census count at 3:30 PM. ACE Classes – Eastern European Cities 4-4:30 PM, Physiology and Fitness 505:30 PM and Psychology of Incarceration 6-6:30 PM. Getting to know your healthy aging body 7-8 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well, the dogs are well. Walked 6 miles. Practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes and Getting to Know Your Healthy Aging Body.
