9/22/2024 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. I made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 97 degrees F. Started walking at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (Semola de maiz, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 9/21/2024.
  5. Walk 6 Miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Yoga.
  8. Quotations.
  9. ACE Classes Advanced Spanish 8:30 – 9:30 AM and Building Permit Process 6-6:30 PM.

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. The first wave of workers were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and the moon was in the mid sky. Th beautiful dawn sky was on display with the dark blue sky an the contracting analogous colors peeking over the Sierras an the moon in mid sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the reddish orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras creating a picturesque scene. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Walked 3 miles and jogged the final three miles. Completed 6 miles at 7:40 AM, ran the final three miles in 29 minutes and 12 seconds. Average running times were: 9 minutes and 52 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 39 seconds per lap. Th pace was fast as I was sweating and had to walk extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:40 AM. The Yoga practice felt good after the run and i was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Completed my practice with the copse pose and visualized the visitation with Doris. She was a lot more relaxed after the loss of Bobo and had had her asthma under control. Good thing she was able to arrange for Tiffany to bring her to Atwater. We had a very good visitation. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky with the moon in mid sky. Attended ACE Class Advanced Spanish 8:40 – 9:30 AM. Theme for today was daily routine Activities – Actividad routina diaria. Good conversational Spanish class. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: scrambled eggs, pancake with syrup, fries, apple and water. Census count at 10:00 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:10 AM: Doris is well and rested. She slept well last night and did not have an asthma attack. She sent the questionnaire from ERIC for me to answer. She was walking in the house. She let the dogs out earlier. I told her i already had breakfast, ran 6 miles, practiced Yoga, attended Spanish class and had lunch. I will be busy with class reports, Statistics and reading. She will do her chores around the house and have a relaxing day. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8693 steps, 16.2 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 242nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She sent the questionnaires from Eric. She will have a relaxing day today. Showered and changed to casual clothes. Had a short nap. Went to library to work on class report. Completed my ACE Class Report on Commutation Awareness.. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, bread and water. Census count at 6:00 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8693 steps, 16.2 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 242nd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She got over the loss of Bobo and is feeling better. Her asthma is under control. Walked 6 miles, stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended Ace Class. Completed ACE Class Report Commutation Awareness.
