9/22/2023 Friday Daily Diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, High temperature for today is 87 Degrees F. Started walking at 6:50 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, Muffins, and honey dew.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Email Daily Diary for 9/21/2023.
  4. Walk 6 Miles.
  5. Yoga.
  6. Quotations.
  7. ACE Classes – Italy 4-4:30 PM, Oceanography 3 5-5:30 PM and Small Business workshop 6-6:30 PM.
  8. National Diabetes Prevention 7-8 PM.

Completed first two miles in 27 minutes 5 seconds, averaged 2 minutes 16 seconds per lap or 13 minutes 33 seconds per mile. Final four miles in 47 minutes 36 seconds, averaged 1 minute 59 seconds per lap or 11 ,1 minute 59 seconds per mile. It was a nice morning walk. Started out late because the hot water heater broke down and flooded part of the unit. Despite the inconvenience the walk was nice. Th sun rise was spectacular over the Sierras, the smog and haze created a dramatic background for the sun Rise. It was a bright orange sphere amid a cloud less morning sky. Finished walking at 8:30 AM. Stretched until 8:50 AM. Went back to the unit to dry up and changed my t shirt. Had a couple of donuts and hot water with some nuts. Went to sewing room to issue some jackets to inmates and hemmed some pants. Unfortunately no Yoga practice this morning. Showered at 10:00 AM, changed to BOP uniform. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, Cole slaw, spinach, macaroni and pudding. Talked to Doris at 11:00 AM: Doris is well but congested, she did not have an asthma attack. She started the van remotely and it shuts off in 10 minutes. Weather is cold in the Bay Area and the air quality is bad because of the wildfire. She told Geok and Siew Eng, I received their cards. Siew Eng is flying home today from KL. She like my class report on Neuroscience and hope I can better understand her, now that I have learn about Neuroscience. She is busy working to build up her inventory for Christmas shows.
Went to sewing room to sew some pants and worked on my book report. Dinner was served at 3:10 PM. Dinner menu: Spaghetti, green beans, bread and salad. Census count at 3:30 PM. ACE Classes – Italian Cities 4-4:30 PM, Oceanography 5-5:30 PM and Small Business Seminar 6-6:30 PM. National Diabetes Prevention 7-8 PM. In Italian cities we learned about Rome. Emailed book report on How to look at and understand Great Art. Census count at 8:00 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well. We had a reduction to $6000 for our repayment to Social Security. She started the van remotely. The dogs are well. Walked 6 miles. Finished book report on How to look at and understand Great Art. Attended ACE Classes and Diabetes class. Had my hair cut.
