9/20/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 85 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:45 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (Harina de avena, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM, that was the first wave of workers, The second wave goes in at 7:00 AM. The morning started out dark, breezy, hazy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy from the Coffee Pot and Boone fires. The dawn sky was on display with the contrasting dark Blue sky with the analogous colors peeking over the Sierras and the moon was in Mid sky headed Westward. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the morning progressed the beautiful dawn sky became brighter as the analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. the squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Completed walking three miles before breakfast. Headed to the front office at 6:50 AM. Reached the front Office at 7:10 AM. CO Almanza checked us into the Penitentiary at 7:30 AM. Went straight to the laundry room: folded cleaned sheets, blankets and uniforms: washed laundry for section 4A and 3A: washed laundry for R & D, Washed laundry for SHU. Went to cafeteria for lunch. Luncheon menu: fried fish, fried chicken breast, Turkey cheese sandwich, apples, cookies and water. It was a very good cooked meal by camp inmates. Back to laundry: folded sheets, made bed rolls; washed and dried blankets and sheets for section 5A. Left the Penitentiary at 2:00 PM. Back to dormitory at 2:10 PM. Counselor Reyes informed me that we might have a self surrender inmate today and assigned him to bunk #70 U. Went to sewing room: prepared bus bags for new inmate: brought cleaned blankets, sheets and uniforms to sewing room, put away uniforms. Census count at 3:30 PM. GED/ESL tutoring was conducted by Rodrigo Santos. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Lasagna, green beans and bread sticks. I was still full from lunch and gave my dinner to Happy. Talked to Doris: Doris is well and rested. Tiffany will drive her to Atwater for visitation tomorrow. Her asthma did not flare up yesterday. The dogs are back to normal. She did all the house chore. I told her I had a busy day at the Penitentiary and at the sewing room. She asked me to call her for ETA tomorrow morning, but she should be around 11-11:30 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and did not have an asthma attack yesterday. She walked 8725 steps, 16.7 inches step length and symmetry was 72%. yesterday was the 240th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She completed all her cleaning chores and Tiffany will bring her to Atwater visitation. Her ETA should be between 11-11:30 AM. I will try to call her for ETA. The dogs are doing okay. Went to sewing room: completed pants and shirt alterations for Cody Carlson, com[pleted pants alteration for Severiano, repaired t shirt and pants for Frank, fabricated 4 pillows with cases for Jorge, repaired uniforms, put away merchandise from the warehouse delivered by Jon, put away repaired and cleaned uniforms. ACE Classes US History 1933 – 1945, 5-5:30 PM and Economic Theory part 3, 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 6:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and her asthma is under control. She walked 8725 steps, 16.7 Inches step length and symmetry was 72%. yesterday was the 240th consecutive days she closed the ring. Tiffany is driving her to Atwater Visitation tomorrow. Walked 3 miles and stretched. Attended ACE Classes. Rodrigo Santos tutored the GED/ESL Classes. Completed all alterations for the weekend visitations.
