The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary by 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, cloudy, breezy and cool. The full moon was shielded by the clouds, I could only see a bright spot in the mid sky. The beautiful dawn sky was a display of contracting gray with peach colored stratus clouds. As the morning progressed the sky got brighter and the sun ray radiated out of the clouds. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The sun finally cleared the clouds and it illuminated the sky and warmed the air. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Some inmates ignored the warning and fed the squirrels. Walked 3 miles before breakfast. Purchased my commissary stuff before breakfast, and spend $10.50. Headed to the Front Office at 6:50 AM. Arrived at Front Office by 7:00 AM. The second wave of food service workers were checking into the Penitentiary. CO Almanza checked us into the Penitentiary at 7:20 AM. We were not cleared to enter into the laundry until 7:40 AM due to movements of inmates. At the laundry room, we: Sorted out blankets, sheets, uniforms and washed them; folded cleaned uniforms, blanket and sheets: made 115 bed rolls; painted laundry carts. Went to cafeteria for lunch. Luncheon menu: hamburger, mixed vegetables, apples, cookies and water. Delivered food carts to sections: 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 5A, 5B, 6A and 6B. Went back to laundry: delivered cleaned laundry to sections: 5A, 4A and 4B. Cleaned up paint brushes and paint mess. Left Penitentiary at 1:00 PM. Back to the Dormitory at 1:20 PM. Tried calling Doris but she did not answer my call. Secretary Mrs. Chavez informed me we will have two new self surrender inmates on Friday 9/20/2024. GED/GSL tutoring 1:30 – 3:30 PM. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well and her asthma is getting better. She walked 8765 steps, 17.3 inches step length and symmetry was 62%.
