Woke up at 5:20 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched to local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 97 degrees F. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, muffin and apple. Started walking at 6:30 AM.

- ACE Classes – Philosophy of Emotions 4-4:30 PM, Art History 3 5-5:30 PM and Life of Muhamad 6-6:30 PM.
- Diabetes prevention 7-8 PM.
Finished walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 33 seconds, average 2 minutes 3 seconds per lap or 12 minutes 16 seconds per mile. Glorious Sun rises over the Sierras with no cloud in sight. Cool crisp morning for walking. In the early part of the morning, there were mainly rabbits, after the sun rise, the squirrels were out in force and the rabbits were gone. It was a nice morning walk with no rush for laundry duties. Stretched until 8:20 AM. Checked and replied to Doris’ email. Showered at 9:10 AM. Read at the computer room. Checked with counselor Reyes and he informed me that there were no new inmates coming in today or this week. At least until they increase staffing at Atwater Camp. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Pizza, Spaghetti, salad, green beans and banana. Talked to Doris at 10:50 AM: She is well but we received a bill from Social security requesting payment of overpayment by Social Security over payment of $9100. Doris will look into it with Social Security and make arrangements to pay it off. I told her I liked the teaching position at Pinole Library and not so much for the Richmond Food Bank. She will look into Hercules Library for similar position too. Went to library to read from 11:10 Am – 3:00 PM. Received 360 pants that need hemming from the main penitentiary. back to the unit at 3:00 PM. Dinner was served at 3:20 PM. Dinner menu: Fried rice, salad, green beans and bread. I supplemented the dinner with a packet of Mackerel, Doritos and a can of Dr. Pepper. washed my clothes at 3:30 PM. In the Art History 3, we learned about Expressionism art empathy and emotion. Determined by what artist want to express. Strong emotional response to space. Moving away from art imitation. Diabetes prevention 7-8:00 PM. Back to the unit at 8:00 PM. Census count at 8:15 PM. Cleaned up at 8:30 PM. Census count at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: I was relieved of my laundry duties. Doris is well but we received a notice form social security. Walked 6 miles. Studied for ServSafe Manager examination. Attended ACE Classes and Diabetes Prevention class.
