Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 93 Degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, bread, jelly and apple.
Plan for today:
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Email daily diary for 9/9/2023.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Yoga.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Physiology and Fitness and Biology 6-6:30 PM.
- Getting to know your healthy aging body 7-8 PM.
Completed first 3 miles in 39 minutes 33 seconds, average 13 minutes 11 seconds per mile or 2 minutes 12 seconds per lap.Final 3 miles in 35 minutes 24 seconds, average 1 minute 58 seconds per lap or 11 minutes 58 seconds per mile. The second three miles was a lot faster pace after I had warmed up. The morning was overcast, cool for a morning walk. The sunrise was blocked by the clouds. But the ambience was nice and scenic good to enjoy the nice walk in a scenic environment on a Sunday morning. Completed my walk at 8:20 AM, and stretched until 9:00 AM. Practiced Yoga at the basketball court in the sunshine, felt good with the warm of the sun. Finished Yoga practice at 9:45 AM. Lunch was served at 9:46 AM. Luncheon menu: toast with syrup, fries, 2 eggs and a banana. Census count at 10:00 AM. Called Doris at 10:30 AM but she did not answer. Showered at 10:40 AM. Called Doris at 11:00 AM: Doris had an asthma attack last night, she had to use the nebulizer for 30 minutes to relieve her symptoms. The dogs are well. She liked my class report on Confucius and she said that the article was succinct and well written. She inquired about my laundry duties, I told her I would turn over the laundry duties to Marquez and Tran but I will keep the sewing activities and taking care of the computer room. So essentially turning over the dirty washing laundry duties over, possibly up to 60-72 loads per day. Maybe I get to spend more time on my reading. Went to read at the library to prepare for my ServSafe Examination on Tuesday, finished reading until 2:45 PM. Dinner was served at 3:00 PM. Dinner menu: baked potato, shredded chicken, coleslaw and bread. I supplemented the dinner with a packet of Mackerel. Census Count at 3:30 PM. Read at the library from 4:00-7:00 PM. ACE Classes European City 4-4:30, Physiology and Fitness 5-5:30 PM and Biology 6-6:30 PM. Getting to know your aging body 7-8:00 PM. back to the unit at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 8:30 PM. Census Count at 8:45 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a hectic but good day: Doris is okay, she had an asthma attack last night but used her nebulizer to control her symptoms. Walked 6 Miles. Practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes and Getting to know your aging body. Turned over laundry duties to Marquez and Tran, hooray.
