The morning started out with call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. Morning started out dark, hazy, cloudy, slight breeze and cool. Th lower atmosphere was hazy and the air quality was bad. The bad air quality was from the Coffee Pot fire and another fire West of Fresno. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and Blue sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it illuminated the clouds in its path turning them to peach color with golden edges and the outline of the Sierras. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. The camp was on lockdown and we had to stay within the compound of the dormitory. Th lockdown was to shakedown the Unicor and Maintenance facilities. Completed 6 miles walk in the compound at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 12 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 22 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per mile. I was not able to practice my Yoga. Call Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. I told her we were lockdown this morning as they had a shakedown at the Unicor and Maintenance facility but it is over and they did not find any major infractions, so visitation was not affected. She checked the BOP website and my release date was updated to 5/21/2026. I told her I will be meeting with Mr Larsen around noon. She was already to visit me tomorrow. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:20 AM. Lunch was served at 10:00 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, green beans, bread, apple and water. Brought some cleaned blankets to the sewing room: exchanged 2 sheets for Ohanian, exchanged 44X30 pants and 4X shirt for Bobby Hood and exchanged 3X shirt for Jorge. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8601 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was was 63%. yesterday was the 228th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She informed me that my release date was updated to 5/21/2026. She is ready to visit me tomorrow, 9/7/2024. Christina will drive he over and she will be here around 11:00 AM. Talked to secretary Mrs Chavez about my restitution and if Mr. Larsen will be in today. She told me that Mr. Larsen won’t be in until next week. She checked on my restitution and it was updated and payment in full, so they won’t be taking money from my commissary account. Counselor Reyes told me we will have a new inmate joining us today and assigned him to bunk # 19U. Went to sewing room to prepare bus bag for new inmate. GED/ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good tutoring sessions. Administered GED Math test part 2 to one student. The new inmate arrived at the camp at 2:30 PM. I processed him. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Lasagna, green beans, carrots, bread and water. Went to sewing room: shortened pants for Mendota, measured Cody Carlson for alterations. Talked to Doris: Let her know that I did not meet with Mr. Larsen and my restitution was fulfilled. She will see me tomorrow around 11:00 AM.
