9/3/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report,high temperature for today is 98 degrees F. Started walking at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast Menu: Cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water ( cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary by 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy. breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy from the Coffee Pot fire for Sequoia National Park and the air quality was bad. The dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green,light blue and blue sky. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the reddish orange sphere illuminated the sky and warmed the air. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Completed six miles walk at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 48 seconds. Th average walking times were: 12 minutes and 18 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. The pace was okay but I worked up a sweat and had to walk extra laps to cool down. Stretched and split stretched until 8:10 AM. I was informed that we are supposed to report to the laundry in the Penitentiary. Changed to my BOP uniform and went to the Front Office by 8:30 AM. CO Gunn checked us into the Penitentiary at 8:45 AM. At the laundry facility: we sorted out blankets, sheets, khaki uniforms, towels, boxers and misc.: washed a load of blankets, a lot of sheets, a load of uniforms and misc.: dry laundry for sections 6A, 6B and 5A: delivered cleaned laundry for section 1A, 2A and 2B. Went to commissary to help with inventory count. Had tuna sandwich, chips, apples and bread for lunch. Went to R & D: sort out uniforms, put away uniforms, put away shirts, put away boxers, put away socks and cleaned up the place. Went back to laundry: dried blankets, sheets, uniforms and misc.: folded blankets and sheets to make bus rolls, washed dirty laundry form R & D. Completed drying laundry form R & D. Delivered cleaned laundry to section 1B and 3A. Left the Penitentiary at 2:00 PM. Back to the dormitory at 2:15 AM. Counselor Reyes and Mr Larsen informed me that we will have a new inmates joining us today and assigned him to bunk #29 U. I asked Mr Larsen about the status of my relocation, he said all is well and wanted me to see him n Friday to discuss the matter. GED/ESL Tutoring from 2:15 – 3:20 PM. The tutoring session went well. The new inmate arrived at the camp at 3:25 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. I processed the new inmate after the count. Dinner was served at 3:50 PM. Dinner menu: Italian sausage, garnishment, carrots, bread, chips and water. I supplemented it with Thai noodles, Mackerel and cabbage. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8831 steps, 16.5 inches step length and symmetry was 64%. Yesterday was the 225th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Quang came by the house and fixed the blinds and looked at the sprinkler system. He made some temporary repair to the system but it replacement of the system. He will buy some new pipe to replace it when he has the time at a later date. Talked to Doris at 5:20 PM: Doris is well and rested. Quang came by the house to fix the blinds an located the problems of the sprinkler system. The system was leaking at a few locations and the PVC pipe should be changed when he has the time to buy the pipe and replace it. I told Doris that I will be meeting Mr Larsen on Friday about my relocation and half way house date. I told her I had a busy day at the Penitentiary. I told her I had to go to the ACE Class and finish my journal later. ACE Class Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8831 steps, 16.5 inches step length an symmetry was 64%. Yesterday was the 225th consecutive days she closed the ring on he iPhone. Stretched and walked 6 miles. Attended ACE Class. Good GED/ESL Tutoring sessions. Have an appointment to see Mr Larsen on Friday. Quang fixed the blinds and partial fix on the sprinkler system.
