The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the penitentiary by 5:30 AM. The morning started out bright, hazy, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy from the Coffee Pot fire at Sequoia National Park and the air quality was bad. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the reddish orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras giving a variation in depth and a picturesque scene. we were headed to the front office for an early start at 6:30 AM. When we arrived at the Front Office, CO Waynard informed us that he only needed Happy and John Liu to work today and sent the rest of us back to the dormitory. Started walking at 6:50 AM. The rabbits were out grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Walked 6 miles, after several days of working at the Penitentiary. Completed 6 miles walk at 8:15 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 12 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 22 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 9:15 AM. I was able to exercise all phases of my Yoga practice: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful and spectacular sunsets with beautiful colors in the sky because of the smog. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky, no sign of the crescent moon. Called Doris at 9:20 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was surprised that I called her. I told her we were sent home from laundry today. She received a recall notice for the GMC van and she will take it to AAA to see what she needs to do with it. Also Diana told her the SUV was running rough, I told her it probably was because of mismatched tires causing a rough ride. She will get Kein to look at it and maybe take it to a mechanic. Kein might come by the house after delivering the order to Berkeley. Doris was hopping to have lunch with Kein to thank him for all the help he has rendered. She has not received a call from the half way house staff yet and wonder if they have enough time to send me to the Half Way House by December. I told her I will try to talk to Mr Larsen. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8795 steps, 17.6 inches step length and symmetry was 54.5%. Yesterday was the 221st consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will be waiting for Kein to come by the house so he could look at the GMC van and SUV. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, rice, beans, apple and water. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 10:50 AM. Went to sewing room: brought cleaned uniforms, blankets and sheets, repaired BOP uniform, put away cleaned uniforms, exchanged 40X30 pants for Jorge, Pillow for Jorge and filters for Jorge, new Large boxer for William Uribe. GED/ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good tutoring sessions. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: shredded chicken, bread, pasta, carrots and water.
