We were locked down last night. We were not allowed to leave the dormitory to go to the trails. The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, light breeze, hazy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and the air quality was bad. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The crescent moon was in mid sky towards the East. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras giving it depth thus creating a picturesque scene. The rabbits were out grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. We headed to the Penitentiary at 6:50 AM. CO Leyvar checked us into the Penitentiary at 7:20 AM. Went to laundry to: fold blankets and sheets, created 115 bus bags of blanket and sheets, put dirty laundry into washers, made more bus bags of sheets and blankets. Went to commissary: took inventory count of merchandise at the commissary, put away returned commissary items. Cooked lunch at 11:00 AM. Luncheon menu: Carnitas pork, spam, pork rinds, rice, chips and Pepsi. It was a very good lunch. Cleaned up cooking utensils and cooking wares, Finished inventory count at the commissary at 1:30 PM, Back to the dormitory at 1:50 PM. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will have a new self surrender inmate and visitation was cancelled this weekend. The new inmate came to the camp at 2:15 PM. I processed him, but did not have all the bus bags items for him. Brought some cleaned uniforms to the sewing room and went to warehouse to secure items needed for new inmate. CO Zaleski was at the warehouse and gave me most of the items needed, Lee Balco helped me carry the inventory to the sewing room. Gave the items to the new inmate. Called Doris at 2:50 PM: Doris is well and rested. I told her the visitation was cancelled for this weekend because the inmates tried to escape. Doris was very upset with the cancelled visitation. I told her that’s not much we can do and just have to change our visitation plans. I told her I will call her later tonight. GED/ESL tutoring from 2:50-3:30 PM. The tutoring session went well. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: hot dogs, Cole Slaw, rice, beans and water. I was still full from my luncheon thus gave my Dinner to Happy. Did my laundry. Checked email from Doris at 4:15 PM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8735 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 220th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Kein came by the house to fix the sprinklers, changed the front porch light and fixed the window screen. He will be back tomorrow to pick some fruits and have lunch with Doris. ACE Class US History 1898 – 1933, 5-5:30 PM. Finished my laundry. ACE Class Stock Options 6-6:30 PM.
