8/22/2024 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 84 degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water ( cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning started out with callout for food service workers at 5:00 AM, but the CO did not know that food service was cancelled today. The camp was locked down because of memorial for the dead CO. The morning started out bright, hazy, breezy and cool. lower atmosphere was hazy and the half mon was in the sky moving westward as the morning progressed. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras creating a picturesque scene. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast, begging for food from the inmates. Walked 6 miles in the camp compound, completed 6 miles walk at 8:45 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 28 seconds. Average walking times: 12 minutes and 24 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 2 seconds per lap. Tried to call Doris but she did not answer. Lunch was served at 10:00 PM. Luncheon menu: tuna sandwich, corn, potatoes chips and water. They also provided us with a dinner bag which consisted of: salami sandwich, bread, apple and potatoes chips. Talked to Doris at 10:05 AM: Doris is well an rested. She was taking her Etsy web page down and reestablish it because someone hacked into it. She called Quang but Annie said he was busy with a construction project. I told her we were locked down for the Memorial of the dead CO today. Her knee was sore from all the walking. The cleaners were at the house cleaning it. They will come by on Sunday to clean the house again after Francis moved out on Saturday. Ate my lunch. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 10, 368 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 73%, Yesterday was the 213rd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She was hoping Diana will come by some she could go shopping for fruits and flowers for the altar. She will b busy with her Etsy pages and out inn the backyard to: enjoy the weather, walk with her cast, let the dogs out and enjoy her tomato plants. Showered and changed to Casual clothes at 11:00 AM. GED/ ESL Tutoring from 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good tutoring session. Census count at 3:30 PM. Lockdown was lifted after the Census count. Added papers to the Trulinc printer. Ate my bagged dinner at 3:40 PM. ACE Classes US History 1898 – 1933, 5-5:30 PM and Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 10,368 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 73%. Yesterday was the 213th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone.. The cleaners cleaned the house. Stretched and walked 6 miles. Attended ACE Classes. Good GED Tutoring sessions.
