Finished walking at 7:20 AM. Beautiful morning, sunrise was there to greet me. The morning walk is my favorite time of the day. Even though I am incarcerated I still can enjoy the activities I like. My walking time had improved to 12 minutes 30 seconds per mile and my running also has improved to 3 minutes and 45 seconds per half mile. Stretched and practiced my Yoga at the basketball court. No pain in my ribs enjoyed the Yoga session. I opened my eyes from a corpse pose and all I saw was a clear beautiful blue sky. What a way to start the Saturday morning. Finished Yoga at 8:50 AM. Had a light snack: nuts, apple, and Reese’s pieces. Showered at 9:00 AM. Called Doris at 9:30 AM: Doris is well but could not sleep as she woke up at 4:00 AM. Chunk is being aggressive and tries to push Doris over, she had to use a stick to ward her off. Quang and Annie requested my information as they might stop by to visit me on the way back from LA. Mava will help clean up the front yard. I told Doris to ask her to lay some filter fabric down like she did before. But Doris might have to buy the pins to hold the fabric down from Home Depot. Kein called to check on the sprinkler system to ensure there is no leak. He enjoyed the bottle of wine, that Doris gave him. Karlee and Chris might visit on labor day since it is a holiday. I suggested that Sunday instead as Labor Day is usually very busy.
Went to medical call out at 10:00 AM. But they had to reschedule my hearing test as they were not equipped to do the test. Went to the library to prepare my ACE Class report for 500 Nations, from 10:00 – 2:15 PM. Back to the unit. Mike left a slice of cantaloupe and a slice of honeydew. The fruits were sweet and delicious. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner is served after the count. Dinner menu: Hot Dog bun, garnished vegetables, pasta, carrots, and punch. After dinner, I shared a bag of smoked oysters with Jon. We also had some Doritos chips and Dr. Pepper. ACE Classes Neuroscience 4-4:30 PM and African History 5-5:30 PM. We learned about willpower and executive function. Will power can be depleted just like a muscle, it can get tired. Worked on ACE Class at the library from 4:30 – 7:00 PM. Back to the unit at 7:00 PM. Signed up for another ACE Class – Italian Cities 4-4:30 PM. Friday. Census count at 7:30 PM. Emailed ACE Class Report on “500 Nations” to Prison Professor and Doris. It started to drizzle out there. Census count at 8:10 PM. Cleansed up at 8:30 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a very good day: Doris is well and handling the household affairs very well. Walked and ran 6 miles. Stretched and practiced Yoga. Finished ACE Class report on 500 Nations. Attended ACE Classes.
