8/15/2024 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform, and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather reports, high temperature for today is 92 degrees F. Started walking at 6:05 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:25 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (cereal, torta, leche, ezucar, manzana y agua).

The morning started out bright, hazy, slight breeze and warm. The lower atmosphere was slightly hazy. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, thre reddish orange sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras creating a beautiful scene and warmed up the air. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence neat the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around the camp begging for food from the inmates. Walked 2 miles and jogged 6 miles. Completed running 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 1 minute and 20 seconds. Average running times were: 10 minutes and 14 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 43 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I was sweating and had to walk extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. Th stretching and Yoga felt good after the run. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Cleaned the computer room. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well an rested. She was glad that I called her. I told her all visitations were cancelled for this weekend and possibly for the month of August. She has to cancel her arrangement with Christina who was supposed to bring her to Atwater on Sunday, Diana was supposed to come along this weekend. Doris’s tomato plants are bearing more tomatoes. She harvested 2 Asian pears from the pear tree. She put the pears on the altar. She will be home. Her ankle feels batter and she will be in the backyard to: enjoy the weather, walk with her cast, let the dogs out and enjoy her tomato plants. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8857 steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the e206th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Brought some cleaned uniforms to the sewing room. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, bread stick, sweet potatoes and water. Went to sewing room: altered 2 pants 34X32 and Large shirts for Chan, altered 2 pair of pants for Prado, altered 2 pair of pants 38X29 for Prado’s friend and altered I pair of pants 38X30 for Blonde Mex. GED/ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good tutoring sessions. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: chef salad, hard boiled egg, cheese and water. ACE Classes US History 1898 -1933, 5-5:30 PM and Stock Options 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8857 Steps, 16.9 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the 206th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. BOP phone service was restored. Walked and ran 8 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes. Good GED/ESL Tutoring sessions.
