8/11/2023 Friday Daily Diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:20 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up and brushed my teeth, changed to BOP uniform, and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee, and watched the local news and weather channel, high temperature for today is 91 degrees F. Started walking at 5:55 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, muffin, apple, and punch.
Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Email daily diary for 8/10/2023.
  4. Walk 6 miles.
  5. Quotations.
  6. ACE Classes – Indian Nations 4-4:30 PM, Oceanography 5-5:30 PM, and Ethics 6-6:30 PM.
  7. Daily Diary for 8/11/2023.
  8. Haircut at 6:00 PM.

Finished walking 6 miles by 7:30 AM. It was a slightly overcast morning but the sunrise was spectacular, beautiful morning for a walk. Private planes were taking off from Merced Airport. Stretched until 8:30 AM. Wash a load of mop and rags for Front Office and Janitorial services. Started sewing hanger for bunk after CO Durant open the Laundry/Sewing room. Completed 5 units until we were asked to stop by our supervisor CO Zalinski. The hanger was considered as a contraband and the counselor and CO Zalenski have to resolve this issue before we proceed with making more hangers. At 10:30 AM, lunch was served. Luncheon menu: Fried fish sandwich, salad, green beans, water, and punch. Talked to Doris at 11:10 AM: She is well and feeling good. She sends my pictures to my family overseas. Bobo is feeling better after Doris applied some ointment on her legs and she is walking and eating well. Kain is fixing the sprinkler system. I told Doris, that Counselor has Mava’s and Kain’s visitation applications and will probably be approved by next week. Doris was excited about visiting me tomorrow. She carries a stick around when she is locking Chunk up to prevent Chunk from knocking her over.
Exchanged T-shirts, shirts, boxers, and socks with Felipe. Exchanged pants with OG. Exchanged socks for Ho. Marquez dislocated his shoulder while working in the warehouse. Finished washing mops and rags at 11:30 AM. Showered at 12:00 PM. Exchanged 5 3XL T-shirts for Rosa. Exchanged 2-34X30 pants with Jaime. Exchanged 2-38X32 Pants with Gadget. Census count at 3:30 PM. The Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Had a dinner party for Vincent Singh for his going away party. He is leaving on Thursday 8/17/2023 for home confinement. Dinner menu: baked fish, salad, rice, corn chips, and Dr. Pepper soft drinks. ACE Classes – Indian Nations 4-4:30 PM, Oceanography 5-5:30 PM, and Ethics 6-6:30 PM. Had my haircut between 5:30-6:00 PM by Barber Armando. Showered at 7:10 PM. Census count at 7:50 PM. Exchanged 3 XL T-shirts for Ruelas. Census count at 8:40 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM
Today was a good day: Doris is well and happy she will be visiting tomorrow. Kain is fixing the sprinkler. Bobo is feeling better after Doris rubs some ointment on her legs. Had my haircut. Walked 6 miles. Stretched. AAPI had a good dinner for Vincent Singh.
