As I got up at 5:30 AM, several inmates were already dressed in Greens and ready to go to the penitentiary to pack their meals because the Penitentiary was on lock down. The morning started out bright, cloudy, breezy and warm. The dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out from the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The lower atmosphere was slightly hazy. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it illuminated the clouds in its path turning it to peach color with golden edges and warmed the air. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona nd family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Walked 2 miles, jogged 6 miles, sprinted the final lap. Completed 8 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 29 minutes and 13 seconds. Average times were: 11 minutes and 10 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 52 seconds per lap. Th pace was fast as I was sweating and had to walk extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. The run felt good and I had no pain in my legs. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga until 8:30 AM in the basketball court. Th yoga practice felt good after running 6 miles. I was only able to scale down my practice due to lack of time. It was announced on the public address system that visitation was cancelled for today and possibly tomorrow too. Due to an incident at the penitentiary yesterday, the penitentiary was on lock down. That’ s why the inmates were sent to the penitentiary to pack, breakfast, lunch and dinners for the inmates. I called Doris to let her know about the cancelled visitation. Attended the ACE Class Beginning Spanish 8:30 – 9:30 AM. Themes for today were School activities (Actividades De Escula) and Summer vacation activities (Verano vacaciones actividades). Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Tacos, rice, corn, apple and water. Census count at 10:00 AM. The CO IN charge announced that visitation today was cancelled and possibly tomorrow too. Talked to Doris after lunch: Doris is well and rested and she got over the disappointment over the cancelled visitation. I told her we have to expect changes when dealing with BOP because of unforeseen incidents. Showered and changed to casual clothing. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8766 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 84%. Yesterday was the 201st consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She did not want to break her streak of closing the ring, so she will walk with her cast, walk slower but still close the ring. She was ready to visit me today. I had some snacks: an apple, a nutty bar, celery and nuts. I had a nice nap. Went to library to read and write. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner menu: shredded chicken, lettuce, bread, chips and water. ACE class Building Permit Process 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM.. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was an okay day despite the cancelled visitation: Doris is well and rested. She was disappointed with the cancelled visitation. But she was resilient to overcome it. She walked 8766 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 84%. Yesterday was the 201st consecutive days she closed the ring on he iPhone. Walked and ran 8 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes.
