Journal Entry

8/10/2023 Thursday Daily Diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 4:50 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up and brushed my teeth, and changed to BOP uniform. The light in the unit was turned on and everyone was woken up because of the shakedown. We were sent to the mass hall to wait while they searched our lockers and bunks for contraband. The shakedown lasted from 5-8:00 AM. Started the first load of laundry wash at 8:15 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: apple, roll, and hot water. Our lockers were in a mess and had our belongings strewn all over. They removed our clothes hanger, which was fabricated by BOP due to insufficient space for our belongings. CO Durant and Counselor Reyes wanted us to fabricate the clothes hanger.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Walk 6 miles.
  4. Email daily diary for 8/9/2023.
  5. Quotations.
  6. Daily Diary 8/10/2023.
  7. ACE Classes.

Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, salad, pudding, sweet potato, and punch. Called Doris after lunch at 10:45 AM: Doris felt better even though she had a cough last night. She contacted Thomas Johnson about the restitution and he is working on it and will contact me. Bobo is feeling better, eating and walking around with a limp. Chunk is being aggressive and preventing other dogs from eating, and almost pushed Doris over when she closed the gate last night. Doris’ step length has improved and she is walking better. She has an appointment with Dr. Scott Lee tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Diana is coming over to the house today and will apply ointment on Bobo. Kain will be coming over tomorrow to check the sprinkler and hope to visit me next week. Kain will check out the drip irrigation system when he comes by the house tomorrow. Diana will be coming over to the house later and will apply ointment to Bobo’s legs.
Inmates’ laundry was completed at 3:00 PM. Showered at 3:05 PM. Talked to Counselor Reyes: Visitations for Mava and Kain, he has them and hopefully will have them approved by this weekend. Making Contraception for inmates to hang their BOP uniforms on their bunks. He authorized the fabrication. I suggested that we complete all the contraptions before we hand them out to the inmates. Also, How do we secure the contraception to the bunks; nylon ropes or zip ties. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: 2 hot dogs, sweet potato, salad, pudding, and punch. ACE classes – Philosophy of Emotions 4-4:30 PM, Sociology 5-5:30 PM, and How your body functions – 6-6:30 PM. Read in the library from 4:30 – 7:00 PM. Census count at 7:15 PM. Cleaned up and brushed my teeth at 8:00 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a strange day: Shakedown at 5:00 AM. No Walking or Yoga today. Overwhelm with laundry duties. But Doris is well and she contacted Thomas Johnson about the restitution matter. Bobo is feeling better, walking and eating. Mava’s and Kain’s visitation request is with Counselor Reyes, hopefully, they will be approved by this week.
