8/7/2023 Monday Daily Diary from Atwater camp.
Woke up at 5:00 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up and brushed my teeth, changed to BOP uniform, and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee, and watched the local news and weather channel, high temperature for today is 101 degrees F. Started walking at 5:50 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, chocolate muffin, milk, and punch.
Plan for today:
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Email Daily Dairy for 8/6/2023.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Yoga.
- Quotations.
- ACE classes – Philosophy and Existentialism 4-4:30 PM and Art History 5-5:30 PM.
Finished walking 5.5 miles and ran 0.5 miles by 7:30 AM. Stretched and practiced Yoga until 8:30 AM. Emailed Daily Dairy for 8/6/2023 to Prison Professor and Doris. Emailed EBRR Class report for “Gambling in Prison” at 10:00 AM to Prison Professor and Doris. This class report was previously sent as a Book report 0n 7/3/2023. Since it is an EBRR Class I decided that it would be more appropriate to list it as EBRR Class Report. Lunch was served at 10:10 AM. Luncheon menu: Pizza, spaghetti with marinara sauce, banana, and punch. Talked to Doris at 10:45 AM: She sounded a lot better and she was going to see Dr Jasmine Lee at 1:00 PM, Oralia was taking her to her appointment. She was upset about Alex’s SF Immigrant Association attitude towards her after she told her I have a felony conviction. I told her we have to be transparent about my past mistakes and we have to be prepared for obstructions and hesitancy from others we deal with in the future. But we cannot let this setback deter us from trying with other agencies. She thinks Bobo is on her last leg as she is not moving too well lately and she is 22 years old. Exchanged 6 XL-sized T-shirts with Chan. Showered at 2:00 PM. All Inmates laundry were completed by 2:30 PM. Went to the library to read from 2:30 – 3:30 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Bread, carrots, beans, chicken fried rice, and punch. Wash a load of laundry for Felipe at 4:00 PM. Stayed at the library to read in between ACE classes – Philosophy and Existentialism 4-4:30 PM and History of Art 5-5:30 PM, and left the library at 6:30 PM. Worked on my Daily Dairy and read at the unit from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Cleaned up and brushed my teeth at 8:00 PM. Final census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is feeling better after her shot from Dr Jasmine Lee. The morning walk was excellent with a beautiful sunrise and I completed my 6 miles of walking. Practiced my Yoga. Sent the EBRR class report on “Gambling in Prison” to the prison professor and Doris. Disappointed with the SF Immigrant Association’s reaction to my felony conviction, we have to expect that and work through it.
